Default SBE Lq4 almost wins NMCA West True Street.

Car had top time on the first two back to back runs after the 30 mile drive, then lit the tires on final pass forfeiting the win by less than .1 of a sec. Temp was in the mid 90's ~3600' da with a stiff head wind. Still running same combo as last year. Haven't turned a wrench on the car other than patch up the transmission. Was running 22 psi of boost with the older style V2 S476/T4, mild ported 317 heads, JFR 218 Cam, and same tired single valve springs lol.
1st pass after the drive 8.43@163
2nd pass less than 10 min later 8.45@162
3rd final pass where I spun terrible was 9.85@15x
for a 2nd place spot.

Car did really well except for the traction which was part my fault from a weak burnout, and torn up track from traction street tires.

Easily one of my favorite cars here. I'm looking forward to seeing a new personal best out of you this year.

Nice job Jarrett. I bet you wish you had that final round over! You could have drove it off easy and won handily.
Of course we don't know that at the time.

Hopefully you still got some coin for 2nd.

Car looks great as always.

Thanks guys!
And yes Ron I was kicking myself the whole way home for that lol
And what made it worse was the car right after me crashed giving the guy behind me who won a nice 2 hr cool down, and fresh track to run down. I heard His car was so hot it would not start so this saved his ***. I was just thankful that I was not the one who crashed.

Thanks Mike and I think you are right. All the faster cars were big inch aftermarket blocks.

Thanks for the good words guys! The 1/8 mile times were 5.40's, at 131-132mph and 60' was 1.345. Car has 3.23 gears with glide and is set up for 1/4 mile.

it is setup for 1/4 but i don't know what you could change and still get it to hook . the gear and trans might be the only thing making it work and saving the axle.

I agree on the axle but Only time car has traction problems is when running on hot unprepared tracks torn up by street tread tires. There were balled spots, rocks, and dirt all over the track. Leaf spring 275 cars go mid 1.20 60's all the time, just need to be on a bitching track which you never find at the places where I race..

Stock48 is that turbo done at 22 psi or are you keeping it conservative to keep the stock engine alive? What rpm are you going through the traps with the current power and gearing?
