1997 Wrangler AES 390 / S484 Billet / 4WD / Trail Rig
.
***UPDATE***10/28/2014(Page 2)
The Jeep is in the middle of a tube chassis build with a bigger turbo and forged shortblock
*This is not a racecar. Its just an oddly build Street driven trail rig.
Original build looked like this.
(I ended up bending the GEN3 rods, and cracking a couple pistons, trying to overspin the S472)
6.0L LQ4 Stock Longblock
Borg Warner 72mm Turbo
4wd 4L80e
Trans-go HD2
Circle D 3700 Billet Single
8.8 swapped rear
100# f-body springs front and rear (4" spacers front, 2 coils cut rear)
Half cage
Flat skid
18" belly height
6" uptravel
6" downtravel
Here's a crappy video of the first drive.

I figured I would wait until she made a couple WOT pulls to share, but I am not running any wastegate....
Thats right... NO WASTEGATE
She's out an running now.
She's... pretty quick. Im very pleased with her.
With the 100# springs, it is hard to keep her on the road, I am going to put a small swaybar on the back to help with this. It is very dangerous right now. At WOT, she is about to roll over... I thought my buddy was going to fall out. haha
During the street tune, @70%throttle, I saw 24#, 11.8AFR, 14* timing, 230* IAT, 85% inj duty(70psi base + 1:1)
Later that night I played in a wheat field. Had a blast, I was seeing 30# on my gauge, AFRs were fine. Im not sure how much boost stacking there is. but it was insanely fast. Idk where my IATs were, but my compressor was too hot to touch, I had to let it cool several times. I would love to know how fast I am spinning that wheel... After my last run, which was a few minutes on his ATV track, must at WOT, my manifolds were glowing, bright orange.
Im not too worried about failures, and it sure seems I will find one soon. Im trying my best to kill something. haha
Drove it around town yesterday, got some groceries, did some more wheeling.
Took her to work this morning, gapped a SRT8 charger and a C7 from a 70 roll. busses.
On to my issue. I've had a few issues I've had to work through thus far(of course).
The latest... My first few WOT pulls(saturday morning), I pushed 4qts of oil out the rear main seal(on my way to home depot). Nasty. I attributed this to my tiny PCV system. (I used stock valve covers, with the little 3/8 hose, to a OCC I had laying around.)
When this setup was on my T/A, I had POS eBay valve covers that I welded -10 bungs on and vented them to atmosphere, along with a -10 on the valley cover. Those POS valve covers always leaked, so I didn't want to use them again)
I decided to weld some -12 bungs on the stock valve covers. Again vented to atmosphere. This definitely seems to help the WOT oil puking issue...
but now, I have a steady flow of oil vapor out my -12 lines(both banks). It looks like diesel exhaust... Im talking 5qts in a day... (100miles) Zero oil is burning, my exhaust is clean. Rear main is clean now. Its all out of the PCV... It must be an issue with my heads... which seems weird to me. I didn't have any issues with this in the T/A...
I regret driving it to work today(40 miles), o well... Ill fill her back up with oil and get her home and start tearing her down. Hopefully another set of 317s will do the trick...?

^^^Dang. That guys likes to talk.
P.S. I just shared a crappy 0-90 video on Boosted LSX, if anyone wants to check it out.
Ill get a good video, hopefully on the track. After swaybar and oil issue is figured out.

No, not yet. I didn't realize how bad it was smoking until this mornings cruise into work...
Not that I wouldn't blame it for grenading, Im pushing it pretty hard...
but... It still has a ton of power. and the oil isn't coming out of the exhaust, its out of the Valve cover breathers.
Im not claiming to have any experience, I am young, and very new to this much power.
I guess we'll see tonight.

I just went out in my dress shirt and slacks, and pulled a valve cover.
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary..
I guess Ill go ahead and drive it home later and pull the heads...

Finally found motivation to get the heads off..
Nothing is obviously broken..
I don't know much about this... Can I hone myself? and throw some rings in without pulling the engine...
