Default 403 LS notch now billet84mm and LJMS cam 7.86@174.5 11-15-14

this is my friend marks car i tuned
he bought it complete Non intercooled e85 SBE 6.0, and it quickly burnt up the stock motor...

i convinced him to go pumpgas and methanol with an intercooler since that is what i run and im comfortable pushing em.

he built a 403 he aqquired cheap and slapped it all back together, stock 317 heads. ls6 cam and still the same small turbo

i did a retune and the car made 630whp, car weighs 3050 with him in it
just last night at cecil he went 9.17 @146mph

in car pass

here i am tuning it on the dyno and we do some street driving

just goes to show you how fast a simple combo, small cam small turbo car can really fly, he drives this car all over where he lives too!

Great results man, that light weight car really likes that broad torque curve of the small setup.

Question for you - and you may have covered it in other threads already or on your wikipage - but how do you like to tune for meth injection? Do you put the jet before the IAT and tune without it and add it before the IAT so it adds power due to cooler charge (basically tuned on pump + meth as a safeguard?) or do you put the nozzle after IAT and tune for it WOT as part of the cars fuel tuneup?

usually i just use it as a safety cushin and for cooler temps, always IAT after the Methanol nozzle

i shoot for 11.0-11.30 on cars like this 15-22lbs on pumpgas with Tr6 plugs and they live.
well this is a built motor but i still baby it like its SBE LOL

sweet car I love those small turbo setups they come alive fast . they might give a little power up stairs but it sure makes for a fun streetcar. good running car .

what size exaust wheel is on that mpt76.

did you build and wire the car? wiring and turbo kit and back half are EXTREMELY impressive

this gives me a little incentive that my tc-78 with a f1 68 mm wheel will run good on my 6.0 when I turn it up. thanks.

That's my old car / setup.

Wiring, turbo setup, trans, fuel system, and gear setup were done by me.
Chassis work was done by OAB racing on long island.

Tell him to get that billet S480 on it!! Looks like he could have made that 9.1 pass with no hands on the wheel.

it usually gets close to street boost on the rollers, i have a regulator where i add air pressure to the top of the gate if we need more, but i do usually ahve to touch up on the street on a turbo automatic car, as boost is 2-5psi lower on the roller than on the street.

but it gets you going much farther faster than trying to speed on local roads haha, once you are doing good you take the car out and hit it a few times on the highway and make sure the fuel isnt super lean or rich

Yea its definitely safer on the rollers. I'd like to buy a dyno but I want to do a lot of turbo or FI set ups so I was just seeing how the inertia only reacted to your car. Cool set up man. I'll be watching this thread for updates

your best bet is a dyno dynamics, my friend has one and it loads turbo cars great, small also! you can drop the wheels on it and move it around
