Default 2100cfm 14" fan enough for my 408TT

Just like the title says, is a 14" puller fan with a shroud that is rated for 2100 cfm enough fan to cool my iron block 408 with twin 70mm turbos. I'm having overheating issues and after trouble shooting everything else the thought is the fan isn't enough. Car has the usual griffin fan all us turbo guys use. Any advice or thoughts is greatly appreciated!!!

Does the car cool at highway speeds?
Fan is a little small from reading I've done. But fan only plays a part of cooling while sitting still.
If the car doesn't cool off while driving you have another issue like a rad that doesn't transfer enough heat.

Haven't been able to drive the car bc it over heats before I get a chance. The only other possible issue I can think of is I'm not doing a good enough job of bleeding all the air out

Seems small but you might have another issue. I run a 2000cfm 16" Spal Puller with a shroud on my stock radiator.

Did you add the steam port to the Griffin? What brand fan? Some of these companies really overrate the CFM of their fans. Any pics of the setup?

Yes I have a Kurt urban setup with a bung welded to my radiator. The fan is a zirgo.

I have a 1050 cfm spal and a probably 600 cfm eBay fan on my turbo fox and it BARELY keeps up in traffic. Moving it does fine. I would try taking it down the road before it warms up and see if temps are in line.

I agree, there are too many variables to assume its just your fan right now. Bleed it very well a couple times. Then test drive it cold. This thread helped me

I had an extremely annoying over heating problem and I fixed this by replacing my crappy dual "800 cfm" fans (probably like 500) and went with a single 16in 1400 cfm fan from Oriellys. Bled the system well and stepped up my fan setup. Wallah

Just for comparison sake but alot of the OE-type fans pull 3500-4000cfms in some cases. I'd stay around there b/c were throwing IC's on the front of the car to make things worse.

That said, the single OE fan in my Mustang seems to be cooling pretty good even with an IC in the way.

I have a 16" spal pusher with a gasket rated at 2000 cfm on the stock rad. Does fine at speed and idling unless its really hot 90+ degrees which is rare around here. If its that hot it will slowly creep up at idle 215 or so if I let it idle for 20 minutes in that heat but at speed it starts going down. I plan on adding a 9" spal pusher to help or redesign my radiator and fans again this winter.
