Thanks-happy with how they came out.

Tips-

1)Find someone with the Eastwood fender roller!

2)If its not 80+ Deg, but some heat into the fender with a torch-if the paint is cold, it will crack. If you are going for a big flair-some minor cracking on the inside is inevitable, but you want to try and avoid it on the body.

3)Get the Inner fender lip going the right direction (up and in) with a rubber mallet-the roller will do the rest

Cut the fenders-I have rolled fenders on many cars. Some benefit from cutting out the inner lip-and some make no difference. We cut one and left one on a buddies Supra, and the side we did not cut actually came out better!

I did not cut either the front or the back lips prior to rolling-but I will say you may get a better flair cutting the rear lip prior to rolling. Cutting the front would do nothing-so I would not recommend it.

got pics of the front and rear from a wider angle? Really thinking about this instead of narrowing my 8.8. Iam like an inch on each side too wide and on the front iam about a 1/4" too wide.

I will get some for you.

The roll gave me a little over an inch more room-but it really depends on how much wheel travel you have. If its a drag car that will have significant weight transfer and wheel travel in the rear, you may need more room. You can always try a 30+mm wide fender with will give you more room for the "tuck" at launch.

Added some much needed HOOK to the mix- and an alignment. It was WAYYYY off lol. No wonder it felt like it was driving towards the wall on the first test hits

Went from spinning 1-4 on low boost to almost dead hooking 2nd on 8psi. **** this thing runs good! Shifts are unreal with this twin disc.

Video to come.

275.

I think the next step in 17 inch is 315, and I would need a wide fender, a torch and a saw to fit that.

Solid or IRS?

Yes the Factory Control arm is the biggest thing "In the way" which I feel comfortable boxing to fit more meat, but if I go to a 315 I'd definitely want a different rear end back there.

i have an 8.8 solid with foxbody 4 link setup. shocks mounted inboard. I just emailed you pics of the setup. Hell maybe even a 325 back there. From factory fender to inside of wheel well is 13" With a little bit of a fender roll / pull you could get even more space.

I will have to grab the sheet. Unfortunately-camber is not truly adjustable on the Rx-7 (that I know of). The lower it is, the more you have. I can tell you it feels GREAT 20-160, but the most outer part of the tire is making little contact with the road at 25psi tire pressure. I am sure it will improve if I air them down but I don't want to run less than 18ish psi on the street at speed. The loss of stability is not worth the half an inch of contact patch!

You should find out. Camber makes a huge difference.

Test hits at 15 psi on a cold tire. Make those Micky T's work! You can get a good idea of how responsive it is too-its not laggy in the least bit.

Thanks to my GTR buddy Matt who donated 2 china Purple gates to the car because, well he just had them laying around (no I am not kidding) and it completed the twins theme. Thanks Matt!

As for the Drag radials-Love em'! Dead hooks in 2nd on Gate (8psi, Mid 500's HP) when it used to spin hard through 4th! Now goes dead-straight when in it. Needs a little tweaking but I am super happy that I can actually now USE the car lol.

Next "round" of upgrades was installing a solenoid so I can have on the fly boost control. Its been my ghetto traction control method for years, and this solenoid was int he throw away bin at a local shop back in 05 LOL. Stage one is Gate, Stage 2 is whatever I set my Hallman at.

Works Wonderfully! With some heat in the tire, I can 90% hook 15psi in 3rd, and 17psi in 4th. On a cold tire though, its just paints the ground at 17psi-even pedaling 4th gear! Not sure how much she is making at 17psi, but **** it felt nasty.

Next up- real intakes!

Down? Why? No stock motor Ls1 Shootout?

You may have to, I will be out of commission for the next few weeks being out of town and with Baby time. I've basically been asked to not drive the car at all until my wife pops LOL

Mine bent some rods at the end of last year. Night before the last track rental actually. No doubt it was over 850 wheel, it was 50deg out and was making over 20lbs all night. I'm painting the engine bay, doing front suspension, and throwing a built bottom end in it now though. Sucks it didn't last but I put it through hell.

Congrats on the new addition! I'll keep the tires from dry rotting while your care to the fam!
