Drivers side was fine. No issues

You got that right! Especially in the engine bay of a 4th gen! lol But it's worth it, and you usually don't have to do it that often.

Sorry to hear about the luck on the head surface ron. Man, if you lived nearer,, I have a whole lot of the ARP lube!

so you think it was the head not flat
I got the china studs, main and head, wasn't wild about the mains, in hind site I prob should have got stock or ARP, but they will prob be fine

I can only make educated guesses. I did get it into detonation early on, and the head surface is rough. I checked and it's flat.

Based on what is working well for others, I ordered LS9 gaskets from Tooley.
I'll also hand polish the heads on a ground surface until smooth.
Then put it back together at 80 ft lbs this time. I'll do the last step 2 times.
Should be back on the road by next weekend.
