Default Turbo braces solid or flexible?

Twin S300s on the car and now that I've got them mounted up, they are putting a decent amount of strain on the manifolds and hot side. I've got solid motor mounts, so I'm wondering when I make some braces for the T4 flanges off the frame rail should the be solid mounted to the frame rail, or should I use something that will give a little?

here's what I'm thinking, 1/4 inch plate one inch wide bolted to the housing. The end closest to the camera drilled for two self tapping screws to the frame rail. Sound OK or does that end need to be welded to the frame rail? For reference, I was laying under the car when I took this, the outlet on the turbine side points down toward the ground.

I know this isn't answering your question at all but did you tap that hole in your turbo housing?

He mentioned he did.

I'm curious about folks experience with this as well.

Because you're running solid mounts, you'd probably be okay mounting the brace to the frame. Personally, I prefer to use heim joints.

That's kind of what Ive gathered, solid mounts = its ok to mount to the frame.

Is that single 1" wide brace I made up adequate?

My frame rails are gone and replaced with chromoly tubes but you get the idea. T4 flanges are from RPS with the mounting tabs. I have the Spohn solid mounts but I will still have a 2" section of flex pipe in my hotpipes for heat expansion.

^NICE.

If you are gonna use a flex, make sure you don't get anything with BRAIDING inside of it...PRE turbo...**** will come apart. Use something with an interlock. The braiding can be used in downpipes though.

The compressor side though, either use silicone or some sort of high pressure clamp to not apply pressure to your compressors..even though you do have solid mounts.

The flex pieces I got are full stainless construction. 4" over all length and 2" on the flex section. Lots of these you see are stainless center and aluminized end caps. Mine has the braid on the outside but inside is solid. Its corrugated but its solid, no braid.

The engine itself expands a fair bit when hit. Manifolds will expand and move. Chassis/engine will move with flex to some degree whether bolted solid or not.

Now ask whether mounting everything completely solid will not eventually result in something breaking ?

These are what mine are. I got these from an eBay supplier. Full stainless construction. Like 15$ each.

Should be perfect^^

what you DON'T WANT before a turbo is this...

after it is totally fine. Sometimes if a TUNE is off,..those wire braids can deteriorate really quickly. They don't make prilosec for turbos lol.

This would also be great for pre turbo

They all look closely the same on the exterior.

Any recommendation on an eBay seller to pick these up from? I am always weary of eBay unless someone has personal experience.
