Cam choice for 427 LSX -GT50-88 build
So, my car has been down for ~5 years now.. A few years ago I started mocking up the hotside and other things with my stock block.
Started back on it as of lately, I have the 4" crank, rods and pistons so now I need to get a cam, but not sure whats a good one for my build.
I have the VR jr and the 6061 elbow all ready, so was just going to go with a set of Trick Flow 245 heads, should be about ~10.8.1 CR and will be running E85.
Any help on a cam would be appreciated.
A few progress pics.
finally pulled it all out.

K thanks... It will be street driven with the occasional track use. I have EFIlive, haven't used it in forever but I use to be able to do my own tuning.
Im just doing this in my back garage pretty much by myself, mostly going off of pictures I have seen from here.

That's a small turbo for the cubes. I would stick to a mild cam like those stated above for a broad torquey powerband with a very quick spool. Shift by 6500 rpm and a 4K rpm stall on boost. While not optimal for the track, should be tons of fun on the street and very controlable with a proper boost controller. I have a GT5088 on my 370ci build with a 232/232 cam. Haven't had a chance to dial it in yet as the Summer arrived as I got most of my bugs sorted out but it's pretty nasty so far.

For that level build, I'd sell the stock computer and go aftermarket. By the time you figure what you can get for the stock comp and harness plus what you have to spend on a 2 step, boost controller and a meth controller if you so choose, you'd be at the price of an aftermarket system or damn close and have lots more safeties, logging capabilities and functionality.

Im trying not to get too far inhead of myself, I know I have tons of work to do on it, but at the moment I want to get my motor finished, attach the TH400, bolt it up in the car (using sold motor mounts) and go from there. Im having th wastegate down below the turbo, not sure how much room ill have till i have the crank pulley/belt assembly on it.
I honestly havent looked into anything much more then that... I do not know what other aftermarket computers there are or what they cost.

lol.. too late, I all ready have the Weisco 4.125's on my table.
Ive been out of the car scene for some time now doing other hobbies... Fall/winter/spring is coming up so thats a good time to get a project going in the garage.
Finally bought a welder, vertical bandsaw, bench grinder, etc, etc so I can do my own work... I like drinking beer and working in crap

Here's the old setup with the PT88 and the rad even with the core support.

Yeah, if you could post it later, I'd love to see it. It's my understanding that the GT5088 is not a specific turbo and different custom turbo outfits use different stuff to make them.
