LQ4/LSA S480 build. What cam?
Working on building a LQ4 with 4.005 wiseco pistons and eagle rods. Trying to decide what valvetrain and cam to get. Decided to purchase LSA heads to bolt to the block. Holley lower Hi-ram intake runners with a sheet metal plenum will also be used. I have a billet S480 turbo, 96mm ex wheel and 1.32 housing
Anyone care to share some personal experience with what valvetraina and cam they run and what to expect? I'm new to the LS world. Use to messing with 4 cylinder motors.
Thanks

That's a quality parts list. Sure beats any 4cyl, Torque is a wonderful thing! Call some of the sponsors, ask around and find a cam that best fits your needs. Weight, setup and gearing has a big impact on cam timing

Im running a very similar combo. 6.0 with L92 heads, I have a 227/235@.050 comp cam on a 114LSA +4 advance ground in.
It works great, engine dyno was 1067 on ~17psi @ 6700rpm, and has proven near impossible to hook up to get good track numbers from. but it has run 9.54 @ 148 @ 3510lbs raceweight with a stick shift. I am confident it will run well into the 8's when i get the chassis sorted even though i will need to leave on very low boost

I would normally recommend a shelf camshaft for this application, but the intake manifold on this combination may end up needing a custom grind.
If you would like to hear some options on valve train parts and cam selection for your engine I would be glad to go over those with you.

actually its for the same car. I had him spec a camshaft for my car when I still was planning on keeping the procharger with my new engine. Sold all of that stuff and going big single Build thread has not been made yet but as soon as more parts show up expect a thread about it
