Default Procharger F1R/ERL427 cam opinion.

Picked up these parts for another project that's been in the works for some time. Engine is ERL 427 with mast big bore heads. Trans is a jakes 4L80E with trans brake and PTC 3400/3600 triple disc converter. Blower is an F1R. Here's where my question is. The cam I believe was speced for a PD blower. Will this work for my application? 232/252 .639/.639 117+3.

Thats a lot of split. It's not like it won't work. Some cam guys will actually like that split.

Thanks. Roughly what range of a cam would you go with?

I'm no cam guy. I can only tell you what I run. I run an F2 with a solid roller, but it is 248/258. Some guys say it is way short on the exhaust side and would like to see closer to 20* split. But it has worked decent so far. 8.99 at 154 mph in a 4110lb truck.

Cam science is kinda voodoo ****. Most of the time it's like asking someone what kind of food is best......

A lot of that is because almost everyone has a different set of circumstances for the cam to work with. A cam that is garbage in one guys f1r set up might work perfect in your f1r set up because you have different supporting pieces. Its a combination thing.

Yea I see what you mean. I guess since I have it might as well try it. Not looking to break world records. Actually looking for good street manners but still perform at the track.
