There was a true Procharger FMIC on here a few weeks ago for something like $200. Damn good deal.

Do you have a build thread? Looking forward to seeing you get it all installed. I hope to have a Procharger build myself in the near future.

I used the CX racing stuff. 31X12X4 I think, it was bar-and-plate which is preferred over the tube-and-fin style. Make sure the piping kit has a 75deg bend, helps get the angle right coming into the engine bay by the fuse box.

I used:
45deg off the blower
2 90s to get to the IC
90 off the IC
75deg into the Engine bay
90deg into a 45deg coupler
straight section into a 3" to 4" 90deg (the 4" is a bit big for the throttle body but it works OK).

I have a Camaro SS so hood clearance was an issue so you can probably do it differently once you enter the engine bay. Also it may be better to just use a 45deg coupler off the blower as it would keep the pipe up higher allowing you to keep the slash shields more intact.

What is your budget? I'd suggest a treadstone IC's over the ebay stuff ($400-500)

I've personally run the 4" core bar and plate everyone is talking about in this thread. It's an OK cooler and does keep the temps down but the pressure drop across the core is reported to be horrible. IE if your blower is making 7-10lbs you may only see 5-8lbs on the opposite side. This is compounded with more boost. May not be a huge concern on low boost blower setups. But since boost is RPM dependent I'd think you would want the least restrictive core possible.

I haven't been back to the track since I swapped to my new treadstone, but it comes up on boost much faster IMO.

You can see the difference in core/fin density in the pic I have below of the two side by side.

The procharger cores are great units if you can get one for $200. I'd go with it over the core mentioned above even if it's only a 3" core.

Well crap, this thread just adds to the confusion of my fmic buy that I need to do soon. I was going to purchase the setup on Amazon mentioned in this thread or a similar setup. Now Im not sure it will be a good idea for a mild 10-12lbs setup due to the claimed intercoler airflow restriction.

i think i will be fine going from thw twin intercoolers to the fmic even if its not the best . the twins eat of a lot of boost with twin coolers and all that piping.

im gonna go to a fmic setup and drop from a 3.4 to a 3.25 pulley .

I agree. The ebay FMIC will be a vast improvement over what you have now.

Wish I had tapped the IC and had actual delta drop data. It's alot more of a concern for guys running big boost. I run 25lbs or so. So it should make a big difference.

Have to say my IAT's were kept in check by the china cooler though. Around 160-170 at 25lbs by the end of the run. IAT Usually started out heat soaked at around 120* as well.

If I were going cheap I'd go with horizontal end tanks if possible. Something like this would work better than the IC pictured above IMO.

How many lbs of boost are you running to make that 499rwhp? I have the same headunit and intercoolers but have not installed them yet. I am gonna ditch the twins in favor of a cheap fount mount setup before assembly and tune. BTW my engine will be a 243 headed LQ4 with a Tick Performance ls2 stg 1 blower cam and maybe a shot of meth.

running 10 lbs with the p1sc1 and meth and lots of timing , my car likes timing .

Planning on putting the mwc fab 9 in the car before christmas , droipping to a 3.25 and then the fmic . So hopefully i can put down 25 more hp along with the 9inch taking some away .
