Default Specific Hobbs switch??

Looking to see what switch most people are running? I'm attempting to find one through Summit but can't seem to find one that reads low PSI. Did find one but it was 45$ and I didn't think people were paying that.

Also, what's the difference in normally open vs closed?

Try giving Lonnie a call, his double pumper runs on a hobbs switch that comes on at 4 psi. Not sure how much he sells them for, I got my switch with his pumps.

As far as normaly open and normaly closed, its the type of switch. My hobbs switch is normaly open, so the + wire is broken until it gets 4 psi then it closes and completes the circuit and turns on the second pump. So the normaly closed switch is just backwards its normaly completing the circut, and would go to an open state when is has psi on it.

So I'm assuming for turbo applications that you need to have a N/O switch so the circuit completes once positive boost is found..

I've already got twin walbro pumps. I've seen the Lonnie's system but it was out of my price range. I'll look to see if he has any switches.

Anyone else?

Your using the hobbs switch to run your second fuel pump ? Then yes, you would want a normaly open switch that closes under boost.

I ment to call Lonnie to see what he charges for just the hobbs switch, he may sell them for less than the $45 you found them for.

Supposedly you can order them through your local NAPA for the best price. The prices of them have steadily gone up, used to be $25 now they're near $40 from most places.

Yes, this will be used to run a secondary fuel pump. I've found one one Summit that's 45$, I thought that was high but it's starting to sound like it may be the way to go. The ones that I'm seeing are NOS related though and read from 4-7 PSI.

Is there a difference?

Thats the winner, $25 and has the good connector rather than WW1 airplane style screw on terminals.
