Default Completely STOCK LS1

I have a completely stock 1999 Camaro z28 with the ls1. and I want to add a turbo to it for my senior project! (Not for performance purposes!!) I was thinking about buying this turbo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GSP-T04B-T4-Turbo-Changer-AR60-Compressor-96-Turbine-3-V-band-Exhaust-300hp-/161224875699?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2589c05eb3&vxp=mtrWith this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-UNIVERSAL-T3-T4-TURBO-KIT-TURBOCHARGER-INTERCOOLER-WASTEGATE-BOV-BOOST-GAUGE-/380857928523?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58ace6cb4b&vxp=mtrAs I said im not doing it for performance im doing it for school. I want to run the boost at 1-4psi if that's possible. and If I can how much more hp will I get?

Look for an eBay Gt45. They're much better suited for a V8.

With fuel and proper tuning you can run tons of boost

I know being a school project, budget is likely an issue. That turbo however, is to small for your ls1. It would work, but not too well. Look into the On3 76mm turbo. With enough fule and a good tune you can run more boost. 1-4psi is not really even worth the time and money spent. The power you would gain at that boost, you can get with a cam and bolt ons for a lot cheaper. Just my .02

Well we wanted to just do 1-4psi because we don't want to up grade anything else right now. do you know what kind of turbo i should look for that will fit that kit? Or can i use a turbo that doesnt have 3" inlet and 2" outlet and just make it fit or will that matter?

Only about half of that kit might work on your car. Key word here "might". You are going to have to do more fabbing on that kit, that will ultimately cost you time and more money then just getting a cheaper kit built for the car. I would look at On3 Performance like others have said in this thread and go from there.

Read the stickies on top of the page, and see if this is what you are really interested in doing.

Why would you buy a kit that comes with a turbo and buy another turbo? As said the Gt45 is still the best bang for your buck that is sized properly. $244 shipped.

Turbo kit is alot of work for 1-4lbs of boost. You could get by with an FMU for enrichment and skip the intercooler. Throw on some alky injection to cool down charge and and enrichment. Wouldn't even need injectors.

On a 350hp motor you'll make roughly around 20hp per pound of boost. (flywheel hp)

Install a nitrous kit instead... Will be 10 times more fun.
