I cant remember if the 67 rad. bolted to the core support or was the saddle type
Griffin makes one for an LS/saddle type and is budget friendly

I don't have a paint booth per se I do have a body shop exhaust fan and that I mounted in the wall that I bought from Summit ... you mount it down low so it mimics a downdraft paint booth. The secret to the paint though is damp sanding the clear with the DA sander. if you go to auto geek forms there are lots of good threads on how to Damp sand the clear with a DA

I'm a big fan of orange LS swapped turbo Chevelles. The housing coating really looks great.

I setup my chevelle with a dual pass radiator from speedway, they're available in different widths. The lower outlet is angled 25-35 degrees, I had to cut and re-weld it straight to fit my Derale fans & shroud

Update:
I have been installing the door glass and rebuilding the vent windows..
I also installed the new roll up 1/4 glass...

It sure would be faster if I took it to a shop for some of this stuff (or started with a car that was 40 years newer) Lol

But I like to be able to say I did it all.. Welding the 1/4 panels painting and grinding the piston rings... everything...while working 50 hour weeks and attempting to raise 3 young humans...Lol

I have canceled snow boarding for the winter and am only hunting ducks once a week until this Turbo is compressing air!

So here is where I am at now...

Should I mount the T6 on the passenger side and not worry about equal length hot side runners?

Or should I mount it in front of the motor and use a pusher fan instead of a puller in order to make it fit?

What engine mounts are you running ?
My asking is this: I'm putting an L-33 into my 66 Malibu.
I have the dingo sliders so I can move the engine around a bit.
I have my engine set up with a low driver side Alt. mount.
My understanding is that the Alt will hit the factory power steering box.
But I see in your pictures that that is not an issue you have with yours.
Is your engine set back a bunch so that this is not an issue ?
Here is how mine is now, but as you can see in the picture I was/am going to try and move it over to the pass side low.

Thank you.

Redman

Actually the Chevelle has a 2nd Gen Fbody front clip that the last owner installed. I did have to notch the cross member to clearance the Alt.

I made my own LS engine mounts by bolting a plate to each side of the block and then welding tabs on.

Personally i'd run it on the pass side if its easier for you. Also i have cut up the truck manis before for more room. Looks like something similar would help if you wanted to run your driver side low still.

Damn I am having a hard time finding a spot for this large frame Turbo...

Anybody have any recomendations on a smaller frame single Turbo that would still be able to run in the 8's on this 3600# car?

I made a mount on the frame. Lots of folks do this.
Chevelle should have more room than a Nova.
I used flex in rack crossover. Shoot, I even used rubber mounts. They were in my 496.
Pass side mani looked like the one above. Drivers side had to go down to clear the power steering pulley.
I think I documented all this in my build thread.
8's? I think I'll get close....

I'd put the single on the passenger side and use one of the headlights as an intake duct. Flip driver side manifold up and passenger side down. You could even use W manifolds like LS1NOVA did in his old build: https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...it-pics-2.html.

There should be plenty of room to put that turbo in front of the engine and keep puller fans if you use an A2W intercooler. You can even move the radiator forward a bit for clearance. You could also tilt the radiator if you really wanted a A2A FMIC.

I know those bars from the cage are taking up some prime real estate.

Ok I cut the pass side J bar for the cage like Ron ended up doing...
I will move it back 7 or 8" and re-weld it to the frame as close to the upper A arm as possible..
Another issue is I have the motor pretty high so the Autokraft pan is above the cross member. I could re fab the motor mounts to drop the motor but I would have to weld bump blocks to the bottom of the cross member to guard the oil pan

Be sure you leave adequate room for the a-arm to move through its full travel when you hit bumps.
I didn't and will be fixing that this winter....

Can anyone recommend the best timing chain set up? This LS2 chain is just too sloppy ....
I want something that is adjustable. Is the Cloyes hex-a-just the way to go? Should I Spend the extra hundred dollars on the C5R "Z" chain?
Or is there a better timing set out there?

I used the Cloyes adj on both my LS engines. I have used Cloyes stuff for years.
Chain is good, and is tight at assembly. No clue what it's like after some miles.
My L33 was drilled for the chain dampner, so I added that as well. Got the timing set and dampner from Tooley.

This said, I didn't need to adjust the cam timing on either engine. Both were spot on with the adjuster set to 0.

Would you mind sharing the details of your alternator/power steering set-up? I'm also looking for room between the low mount PS pump and the steering box. I've heard an '89 ford E 150 Van pulley solves the problem, but would like to know what your set-up is.
Thanks!
