Default what turbo for a 370 street car? opinions welcome

I'm starting to gather parts for my fully forged turbo 370 build I'm hoping for anywhere from 7-800rwhp through a t56 and strange 9" and I'm not sure what turbo is best I've been looking at the pt7576 cea I was wondering if any of the turbonetics turbos would be close to that, i'm wanting it to spool up really fast as I might do some roadracing I'm not really good with all the terminology yet, but is it really necessary to have a ball bearing turbo? All ideas and opinions are appreciated

That is a good turbo but there are better options IMO for a lower price. BW S475, TC7875, TC7675 and the BW S480

S475, S476, S480. Pick a turbine size and A/R, pick a compressor wheel, and if you want a race housing. Call forcedinductions.com they have variations of these.

It is a different housing/cover for the compressor. Adds horsepower. But I am not sure if it is worth the $$$ depending on your goals. Talk to Jose at forcedinductions.com. He will give you the low down on all of the options.

Your going to want to understand your turbo size and how you are going to package your engine bay.

If you want a clean and compact bay or are limited on space, the PTE7675 is a great turbo.

If you are not worried about placing a larger turbo or having to support a larger/heavier framed turbo, go with a S480.

Either way, if the car has enough injector and fuel pump, either of those are going to make 800 with the right tune.

Also, no ball bearings, money well wasted for a street car (my opinion but I have never seen good data on to back that up)

I have a brand new in the box S480 /92 1.10 AR t6 with the V3 billet wheel from FI that would work extremely well with your setup. This turbo will make your power goals easily and spool pretty quick. I also have a complete 304 stainless cerakote coated/wrapped hotside with wastgates, big intercooler, vbands etc. Let me know if you are interested.

Another vote for a small unit PT, love my 7675 but some people want huge turbos.

Sorry I actually planned in making my own hotside and it will be quite a while before I'm ready

I really want a quick spool so I think the smaller tc7876 or pt7675 will work well

Those big turbos are more reliable and up to half the cost of the PTE and make the same power or more.

If a quick spool is your priority, I'd put you in a TCT472.

PTE7675, Turbonetics 7875, or Turbonetics 7575 all will package very nice in the engine bay, spool ver quickly for you, and have no issues meeting your power goals! I would go with one of these for you goals!

If you are going to want more power down the road, I would recommend stepping up into with a larger turbine wheel, housing, and 4" discharge.

Contact me for any questions and of course the very best pricing on anything Precision, Turbonetics, Bullseye, or Borg Warner!

The TCT I posted is even better, but pricey. Standard BatMo is a good middle ground turbo for most people. Much nicer than the cast unit, but not too pricey.
