From what I've researched, the tablet and mount is better. Downside is you have to charge it. Upside is its way cheaper and you can use it for other things

Cool thing about the tablets are that most of them have a really long battery life. Mine will run for like 10hrs straight. Not to mention the screen is way bigger than the holley unit. Don't forget your mini USB adapter if your tablet has a micro USB like most of them.

Some good info. Looks like this setup with injectors is going to cost roughly 3-4k.

With injectors, meth relay, boost solenoids, 2 map sensors closer to the $4000 figure.

Below is a list I made a while back, basically what I got for the Dom setup I have in the Buick. There is alot of money to be saved building your own harnesses if you have the time to do so.

Can you set up gauges to get their input thru the ECU? Does Holley offer any gauge options that are basic plug and play?

Thanks for that. I would say yes I will build my own harness but the car is being built by Camaro9969 and he has a ton of work to do already so the cost for those isn't much compared to time saved. I think I found a vendor that is willing to help me build one instead of just trying to sell me parts.

Almost certain you just need the pump, lines, and tank. The controller is the Dominator. I'm pretty sure I could currently get away with just using the hp. But I have a feeling that I'll want to add more **** after it's going and then have to lose money getting the dominator.

From what I've read also, you want to buy from a vendor that provides post purchase service, ie tech support/tuning. They will also provide you with a base tune.

If you want to run Auto meter gauges you either have to split the signal to the gauge and the ecu or you have to double up on sensors with the exception of the tach which has a dedicated output from the ECU.

Holley makes programmable digital gauges that run on a single wire from the ecu.

They also have the old touch screen LCD which can be used as a cluster or a handheld programmer and a newer design touchscreen that is intended to be used exclusively as as a dash with more custom options but it is not released yet.

Racepak is now compatible with a module but if you don't already have one, that's a very expensive route for a dash.

As for tablets, you can use them if they are running a full version of Windows 8. These tablets are usually designated as "pro" versions. This is effectively the same as using a laptop and give you 100% of the gui features but the "Dash" display mode is limited and not programmable. I've also heard that on the small ones that would actually fit in the dash it can be impossible to get the screen size right due to the native resolution of the screens.

I wonder if I can get away with the hp efi. I have a boost leash/pulse leash combo, no meth, no dbw, not trans control.
Sell the boost leash and use the money to upgrade to the Dominator. Not that you'll need it initially but later on it gives you room to grow. The Holley Boost control is as good as any on the market and being able to log everything from one place makes reviewing data much easier.
