1982 Ford Fairmont Futura
Virgin straight-6 car. Undercarriage and engine bay was rust free, good torque boxes, straight body and perfect patina.
Slowly making progress on Sundays and in between shop work. Teamed up with GMPrecision and we've been hammering out a pretty nasty forward facing turbo setup. Hoping to make a pass or two before the snow flies, even if we have to drag her down south a little ways.
Motor combination is a 2002 LS1 with 317 heads in front of the OEM Ford C4 tranny with a JW bellhousing.
Here are a few pics of the original mock-up:
For this combination, we are using one of my 1/2" front plates with the OEM fox driveline offset. The plate has integrated water ports for the remote mount pump. Still using the OEM k-frame with the original motor mount pads cut off and smoothed out. The motor fit really nice with the f-body pan, just had to clearance one corner of the cradle.
Front mounted T6 Garrett. Dual Tial 38s. 2" T304 crossover. 5" Fender Exit (turndown hidden inside the fender apron). Turbo mount on oil-return passes through 1-5/8 chromoly cross bar (eliminated lower rad support).
Everything all cleaned up and a little paint...
...Stay tuned

I will have to get you some from up in the fender apron. Still deciding whether or not I wan't to try running one of the little 5" Vibrant bullets.
On a side note, a little more progress got buttoned up.
Ed hammered out the dump tubes from the gates and we also added a vibrant bellows to the crossover.
The combination really almost looks too nice for this car haha.
There are so many crazy lines and trajectories to look at!
The dump tubes are slash cut parallel to the lower crossover tube, and they are also gusseted together so they get removed as one unit.
Lot of cool little features in the layout of this kit. I am super interested to see how it performs.

I keep going back and fourth on selling the car, primarily because of a massive lack of time....but either way....I pushed it in the shop and got to work last night to ring in the New Year.
I decided to stuff the Holley Hi Ram on the motor. Obviously with a stock Fairmont hood, along came the cut-off wheel.
Every time I cut a piece off this car, I like it a little more LOL.
...might have to just pony up and get this pig running.

I was saddened that you cut the hood but what you did to the intake is beyond awesome and makes me love it! I LOL'd seeing it. Are those wheels 14 or 15"? I've always wanted to see that style widened to 10" on the back with Mickeys mounted.
