Default 5.3 7575 661whp on 20psi

Like the title says i made 661whp 657tq

its a 2010 5.3 tu0 cam, edlebrock proflo, ls9 gaskets and headstuds, turbonetics billet 7575, e85 and 17 degrees of timing, 20psi. this was on a mustang dyno. This seems low to me, what do you guys think? Peak power was at 5900 seems like the cam is holding me back.

Its because your on a mustang dyno. Automatic trans would rob some power as well.

I made 550hp 550tq at 10psi on a dyno jet. Stock LS1 with LS6 intake. T7875. T56 car.

Looks comparable to the general concensus of 20psi = double n/a power.
Cant you give it a little more timing with the e85?

Transmission? If auto was the converter locked? That can play a huge role in the numbers.

Open up the exhaust at all? With mine I picked up 65 rwhp just with the cutout open then remembered everything that goes over the axle is crush bent so I'm sure it doesn't help.

Mustang dyno's are different because the calibrations can be off with adjusting the load settings from what I recall. On my buddies dyno car dyno'd 413 rwhp cam only and on a mustang dyno with no changes dyno'd 479 rwhp.

It does seem kind of low, fwiw, with 8 psi and 15* timing sbe ls1 w/ 317 heads and tick turbo 2 cam I did 621 running out of fuel with the same turbo.

Have any before/after pulls on the dyno to do comparisons?

...ls2, comp cam,fast102,id1000's, ls9 gasket arp studs, billet s475 t4, custom manis/kit..turbo smart ****, 4" dp and dumped WG.. only 8psi and I'm at 726 wheel on e85,, through a t56 McLeod twin and tick master/Hurst shifter.Moser with 410 gears

Seems low for e85.. mustang dynos are junk. .. see what you can do on a dynojet. .

I forgot to say its a t56 swapped truck. I added timing untill it stopped picking up good gains. Stock bottom end so ill give up 15ft/lb for a little safety. Its the only dyno ive been on and it was spinning on the rollers. My quarter panel looks like i was in a burn out competition. Mt streets 15psi still spinning

Oh yeah and the exhaust is 3 ft of 4 inch into a hooker maxflo muffler no tailpipe. You can see the turbine from the end of the exhaust so i dont think its any restriction

i have this saaame turbo on my bone stock ls1 and made 565 wheel on 12psi, i have a built ls1 to stick in but i feel even on 18psi or so id be lucky to see in the 700's...why are these turbos makin so little compared to the pt7675?..my turbo is for sale by the way..lightly used..im goin bigger

Dyno is just a tool. Take it to the track. My 5.3 did 587rwhp through a th400 on 13lbs and trapped 133mph on a soft pass. Track doesn't lie.

The main reason i dynoed it was to dial in the timing. I was just suprised at the number ive seen so many 5.3s 700+ on less boost and tc78s. Could be inflated number by tuners. I built and tuned my truck, dyno guy just sat there and watched me do pulls so no reason to inflate numbers.

It seems low to me too. I made more power on 18.5 lbs with an ls7 cam in a 5.3

Sounds like you could have wheel spinnage but not hear it. With my wifes ta with the cam and worn tires we went from 413 one year to 333. Figured first was wheel spin then second came in right on top in on top of the other and left me scratching my head. Did a 5th gear pull and numbers went back up. Lowered tire pressure and threw in some weight and 4th pulled numbers like before.

Just something to consider. Have had trucks spin on the dyno just from the lack of weight and also have larger wheels do funky things on it to.

What turbo and what kind of dyno. From every thing ive read it probably would have been over 700 on a dynojet

14.5psi should produce double your N/A power. By 20psi, you should be hauling ***. OP, numbers definitely look low to me. I'd compare numbers by running on a different dyno if you are looking for a specific number. If not, let it eat at the track and compare times with similar combos

I wouldn't pay ANY attention at all to a dyno number. They are there just for tuning purposes, never seen a dyno graph race before so I don't ever worry about. If anything its better to have a low dyno number to mess with people who do pay attention to them.

FWIW my lq4 with a tooley cam and a tc76 only made 580whp at 15psi, but it went 9.8 @ 140mph. It was great playing around on the street and having someone want to race since I "only made 580"

Thats a good point, everyone likes to compare dyno numbers when trap speed really tells the whole story. I haven't been down the track yet and the next test and tune is december 7th. My truck is 4230 with me in it and the 1/4 mile hp calculator says it should trap 125 so we will see.
