Default journal bearing to ball bearing switch

Upgrading to a gt45 80mm ball bearing turbo from a journal bearing turbo that was running no restrict or for oil. Am I going to be OK in just a straight swap over or will I need to do anything different with the oiling. Will I need to do anything different to run the bb in any other areas.

Default

You might going to need a restrictor for oil supply, because ball bearing turbos do not require so much oil for lubrication. Some of manufacturers eliminated the need of oil restrictor for ball bearing turbos, by making it inside of the turbo housing like Borg Warner EFR series turbos.
