Default Season ending 9.45@145 (added Videos)

I had the opportunity to participate in a track rental at Woodburn dragstrip today. Below sea level air, sun, mid 50's and Excellent track prep.

I knew this thing would hook on a good track, even though it has the wrong gears, wrong converter etc.

Very fun this turbo stuff. Last year at this time I had just run 10.03@133 with the rat motor. Quite a change huh?

many thanks to all those who helped and inspired me.

Ron

great pass . that is a good running car. hard to change anything as good as it runs on 16# given you can get it to hook. good way to end the year. congrats.

Awesome run Ron. No better way to end the season than a new personal best and no breakage.

Thanks guys,

Car has 3.73 gears and I'm now running 9x29.5 bias ply slicks.
Unfortunately the car is all over the track now. Something is amiss there. Winter project.

Vince, it makes 4.5 psi on the 2 step. I wish it made 10.....,

Ron

Congrats!

A 60-100 shot of nitrous for 1000 rpm works wonders (or about 1.5 seconds). Will make as much boost as you'd like, and allow you to keep the tight converter. 10lb bottle would last all year. What kind of RPM do you see on the big end at 145?

Yeah, understood on the nitrous. But I don't wish to do that.

Finish line RPM is 6900 by the logs.

My plan is to switch to a 3.31 gear. And possibly a PTC converter.
I'm also out of injector, running right at 100% duty cycle. So I may up those too. Not enough pump left to up the base FP much more.

I'd like to turn the boost up closer to 20. I'm at 15lbs now.

Congrats Ron! I'd try and find some good high impedance injectors in the classifieds unless you are able to run the holley 160's. They are low impedance.

I have ID1000's. Very nice injector, very easy to tune with the stock ECM.
At my base, they flow 112 lb/hr

I believe I'll go with Duech Works 127's. They flow that at 43 psi. Also a good injector. A friend is a dealer.

Thanks man,

I'd like to have a shot at the high eights. Been a goal for years.

And correct. E85. It actually dropped to $3 a gallon here. Just in time for the end of the season!

What are you running for fuel pump(s)? Do you log FP? Shouldn't be out of injector at 15lbs with 112lbs of injector. Filled up on e85 here for 2.67 a gallon saturday!

Holley HP 12-1800
56 base.
I am not logging FP
I'm running at 11.3:1 AF ratio.

What doesn't seem to be published is where that pump looses flow. At least I have not seen that data.
Also running the matching regulator. I do not know how much pressure it can handle and still have a linear rising rate. Holley says 70 or 75 psi max depending which document you look at.

Awesome Job Ron! I will have my chance to hit up the track here soon, but I do not think I will get near to what your car runs! Congrats again!

She looks a bit twitchy going down the track...think the new tires have something to do with that?

Are you running both pumps in the 1800 together, or bring in the other one on boost
I have the 1400, just mounted it yesterday, and the 848 reg-i planned on #10 to the fuel rails, 8 return (running a 4150 style intake w/90 deg adapter) as usual I would have done it diff., but it started out a diff. way, lol
Did you go in one end of the fuel rail, cross over to the other and then to the reg? I have seen it done a couple diff ways, tee in and out
less fittings, less cost, that's the mode I am in now, lol
