Needing help 6,0 flat top pistons ls3 heads

Default Needing help 6,0 flat top pistons ls3 heads

I'm told I can run stock ls3 heads on a 6.0 with flat top pistons. I'm wanting to throw a lsa super charger on top on that combo but can I run brain tooleys stage 3 Cam specs are 231/248 .617"/.595" 120+5 with those flat top pistols will I have valve and piston slap ?

It is stock bore but I have it apart right now so I can gap the rings I don't want to put it together until I know for sure so please help

It'll be damn close. What gaskets? You'll need to clay it up to find out for sure. I did valve jobbed ls3 heads on a ls2 with .040 gaskets and it was at the limit of what I was comfortable with. If the seats haven't been cut it'll be even closer.

I'm guessing you'll have to flycut, but you need to measure. No one on the internet will be able to give you a clear cut answer.

That's something you never wanna hear they aren't fly cut just flat tops I was planning on running ls9 head gaskets

Would a ls9 can be a better choice 211/230 .567/.562 122.5

Just measure piston to valve clearance with the cam you have now. Don't make any decisions based on what the internet tells you. Measure and know for sure.

I don't have any cams at this moment and my motor is apart so I can't measure

I'll tell you this. The last time I did uncut LS3 heads on an ls2, with .040" gaskets I ended up with .075" PTV. They were valve jobbed so attribute .005" at most of that to cutting the seats. This was with an EPS lobed 228/234. Anything ~230 or bigger on the intake side with an untouched ls3 head on a stock size gasket and you're close enough to need to measure for sure.
