I had it on a 5.3 and now the LQ9. On both it goes positive at 3400 and comes on super fast after that. I thought it would spool sooner like some of these guys rides on here but after doing some research it might be a good thing that it comes on a little late. Overall very responsive and I like it. But its huge. Wondering if a TC76/78 would of worked just as well for what I'm doing (play car).

I see this asked all the time. You’ll never get an accurate answer with the information given. "Good Spool" Is about as vague as it gets. One person’s idea of quick spool may be a lag monster to another. Depending on the build, the same turbo may behave very differently.
How are you performing these “Spool Tests” ?
What Rpm do you see 1lb of boost? Full boost?
Starting from a stop? Are you at idle or brake boosting/trans brake?
Starting from a roll? If so, what RPM?
What gear are you in? Rear end gearing? Tire size? Weight? Converter?
Compression? Heads? Cam? Intake?
Hot side design?
Etc…
All play a huge part in “spool time”. Unless our combos were VERY similar, comparing the spool time of my T4 S475 to yours is pretty pointless.

I have the same turbo and im debating if I should take the sc off of my lsa and bolt this thing on there. I bought it from mike turbos and mike personally said that it should work perfect when I originally bought it for my ls3.

I have a S475/83 1.25 T4 on a 6.0L and it lights off extremely quick. low 1.3 60's off foot brake with a tight SC3000 converter. Like forcefed sail lots of things come into account with spool up tho. Hot side, tune, cam, intake, are all big players. E85 also helps with spool.

I had one on my last fbody. 5.60@125 in the 1/8th 8.77@155 in the 1/4 with it. Lights off very fast in my application with a 347 ls1, 10.5 to 1 compression, e85, no intercooler.
