Default V band clamp reducers

This maybe a dumb question. I am welding v bands on my truck manifolds, and I know that 2.5 inch fits it perfectly. But, I want to make my crossover 2.25 inches. Can I have one flange 2.25 inches and the other flange 2.5 inches? It is only 1/4 inch difference. Can they interchange? I tried to find smooth transition 16 gauge mild steel exhaust reducers from 2.5 down to 2.25 and really didn't have any luck with it. Unless someone makes reducer v bands, or if someone has a link to quality exhaust reducer pipe that will last? Thanks in advance for any help.

The outside diameter of a 2.25" v band clamp is 2.5". There will be a slight step going from the manifolds to the clamp, but it's not much. I just did my manifolds using 2.25" clamps and they're flush with the schedule 40 pipe I used for the modification so the weld sits nice and flat. Hope this helps.

I used a cone and necked mine down right off of the vband. My hotside is just 2" and it worked perfectly.

I'll second what 3 window said, I also just did mine last night and the 2.25" v bands worked perfectly.

Great. So, 2.25 v bands it is. My mistake, for some reason I thought I remember reading that 2.5 inches was the right size for the truck manifolds. Thanks guys.
