Default 120k mile gto... is a tvs2300(6psi) safe

Experts please chime in...

I have a potential customer who wants to supercharge his 05 LS2 GTO. Normally i would say hell yes, lets install it and tune it. But i am worried about the mileage of the vehicle. First of all i said i would only do it if he was going to stick with the supplied pulley which produces about 6psi out of concern for the high mileage of the vehicle. Also the ls2 came from the factory with 10.9:1 compression which is very high for any kind of forced induction.

The motor seems healthy; perfect compression test, oil has no shavings, no oil loss, valvetrain sounds healthy with a stethoscope, ect. The car has an intake, headers, and exhaust, stock valvetrain.

Should i go through with the job, is there anything I should worry about that i haven't already checked.?
I will get him zr1 spark plugs and probably just go REALLY easy on the timing.

He is ok with this and says he will bring it back later to go forged down under to really take advantage of the 2300. Once it failes

I'd say go for it
I had a maggie on my gto for probably 30k miles
Pullied to around 11psi and way past maximum blower speed. Also saw a bit of nitrous at the track. Never had a problem.
Make sure the tune is good and have fun
Maggie's are a lot of fun on the street

Mine was on 91 pump gas with 19* of timing
Few gallons of Vp116 when I used the nitrous
Not a hint of knock
6 psi isn't much boost
Most of the junkyard builds you see on here have a lot more miles than that and a lot more boost without any issues

You could suggest to your customer that swapping some 317 heads would be a good idea. There cheap and will lower comp some, along with the LS9 gaskets. That will help with keeping things together. Meth would be a smart move also.

Methanol is definitely a good idea in Miami. Have never worked with it but always have known its benefits. Any kit recomendations

I think you'll be fine as long as its setup/tuned properly

No such thing as too many miles for boost on a healthy motor. At that point it becomes 'well seasoned for boost'.
