Default Factory to 3bar map... Will it run?

Would have posted this in my build thread but it's not getting many looks so I figured this would be quicker.

It's time to start my car and I was wondering if swapping for the factory map to the 3 bar will even allow it to start? I've got hp tuners but didn't really want to dive into the tuning just yet.

If you changed the OS to 3bar and the linear/offset are correct yes. But it sounds like you are wanting to fire it on the regular OS.

If you are making no tuning adjustments at all but want to fire it I would have stock MAP AND injectors in.

you can probably get it to run, we did it on my friends car by accident

ls1/t56 swapped 69 C10

his map sensor was broken, so i said fug it, throw in a 3 bar in case you ever want to get nuts later with a turbo setup.

we left the scaling as 1bar in the tune, (i forgot he bought a 3bar) it ran but shitty.
then we realized and changed the settings to 3bar haha

but i agree with Ablake, just leave it stock and fire it, if you already have the 3bar and already have hptuners, why not just flash the sensor change

Yeah it would be less headache to tune for the 3bar instead of swapping it out.

I'm not talking about driving it down the road. I'm just saying I want to start it and hear it run.

I can go ahead and out one of the base tunes that denmah has on his wiki page but is like to hear it run to get some motivation.

Your Air/Fuel will be wonky as it will be trying to fuel for the wrong amount of vac at idle.

Flash in a canned 3bar tune with the right injector data and fire her up.

HP Tuners? What injectors. I can probably just send you one if that helps! Get that motivation back!

Lol. They are 80# smartfire injectors.

I have an inj flow service.. That **** is one brand I refuse to clean/flow. ABSOLUTE JUNK......Most of the time, the customer tells me to throw them away.[That happens after a substantial whack w/ the 2#'r]

Dayyyuumm! What a **** stor I've came into when I walk through the door. I feel like someone just gave me a swift kick to the ***** now!

On a serious note, I knew that they werent the best injectors. It's all I could afford at the time though as I found them on a good deal.. Ordering some new deka 80# won't be a problem though.

Still I would love to get this thing going without having to make anymore changes. I've backtracked on the build more than I've went forward, I'm guessing because it's my first. Is the injector data close to the same to where I can just load one of the 80# base tunes and go off of that?

Have you swapped to the 99+ pcm? The 98 pcm only supports HPTs 2 bar OS.

So where is the cheapest place to buy a 2bar map? I've been looking and I'm seeing them for 100$. I know paid 35 for my 3 bar from efisource. Suggestions since this obviously won't work?

I sent him a PM and he wrote back saying that he has done it tons of times. Said to change the limits of the ecu to 3 bar and I would only have 2 bar worth of fueling in the table. Said no matter what though, the sensor would still see 3 bar. Can anyone interpret this?

Yes.

Run 2bar OS
Plug in linear and offset for 3 bar

Your actual screen (kpa) will only show to 2 bar but with the right linear and offset in the table it will run properly.

Screenshots would help but I don't have HP Tuners on my work laptop.
