Default standard split vs no split for quick spool

I've noticed most turbo cams are standard split for example a 223/227 114lsa. But comp cams recommends a no split for quicker spool time for example 224/224 114lsa. Obviously most people want quick spool so which one is the best?

As far as the cam numbers go neither one. The most important is the Exhaust opening. The earlier you open the exhaust the more presser you have which will spool the turbin wheel quicker producing boost. There are other factors but as far as the cam numbers it's EX opening.

It all depends on the combo. Some cams generate more exh energy but kill the na tq of the engine resulting less converter flash and the need for more boost to get going. It can be a dbl edged sword..
