Default stock manifolds?

So I have been reading around a bit and had a question about guys using stock manifolds for there turbo builds. I see everyone using truck manifold and just wanted to know why is there somthi g different about them or is it just because of the way the outlets face? I'm asking because I have a chance to get a set off of a g8 gt and was just wondering if the would be ok. shooting for 700 with room to grow on a 408 with an s480
Thanks for any help
Jesse

Get whatever manifolds fit your engine compartment best. One reason you see many people using truck manifolds is because they're cheap and easy to find. If the G8 manifolds point where you want them to, use them.

Simple, they're plentiful, a decent shape and cheap.

The G8 one's will work just fine too, or almost any factory manifold that physically fits your needs.

It's not so much about "flow" as getting that heat energy to the turbine. I've seen some bonkers power numbers on truck manifolds.

Obviously flow matters too....but the cast manifolds really arent bad at all anyway.

AGP Turbo, Hellion etc all make kits for the Gen5 which uses the same manifolds as G8 I think, and they make great power

Cast manifolds usually last a lot longer than tubular ones also. Tube manifolds have a tendency to crack from the expansion and contraction.

I believe that's firmly in the aforementioned "bonkers power" category!

The biggest reason people use the truck manifolds is because they fit (With moving the alternator). The second reason would be that they flow decently for most peoples power/flow rates.
