Gen 4???
Hey guys, I think it is, just want to be sure. It is a 2005 6.0 LQ4 with 100k from a van. I picked it up a few months ago and just took it apart. It has flat top pistons so I know it is a LQ4. If it is a gen 4, does that mean it has floating pins also? I have a BW 480 billet, so do I have a little more room for power output? If you guys could take a look and let me know if different pics are needed. Thanks in advance.

Where is your cam sensor? 24 or 58 tooth reluctor?

Pop off the oil pan. One quick peak underneath and you'll know for sure.
I've had an 05 5.3 with gen 4 rods before. I don't know when they started putting them in the 6.0s

So, I guess I have a LQ9. No big deal, but wanted lower compression for the boost, but I'll live with it.
Since, it has the gen 4 rods, does that mean that it has floating pins and not pressed?

Jesus the miss information in here is strong.......
Anything LS that is 05+ has the beefier rods.
Also 05 and 06 certain vehicles had 24x reluctor with the cam sensor in the front timing cover. Just because the cam sensor is in the front cover doesn't mean it is 58x always.
Regardless that wasn't op's original question I don't think. I want to say it was just about the rods and whether or not he can safely run 800whp through it instead of 650-700 that a gen lll will do.
