Figured they'd use a "Stock" 4.8 with the normal little things vs a built motor

Cool read either way

As interesting as that is, i would have loved to see them incorporate an electronic boost controller and command a specific psi and run the test again and see how the two turbos compare psi for psi. Great info though! Thanks for the link

Yes the DNA Motoring is a 69mm unit. Pretty cool comparison between the two units with different turbine wheels.

I'm assuming the CX turbo had a real small turbine? They didn't list the specs.

The CX racing is a 65mm turbine. Shows what kind of bottleneck those small turbines have even on a 4.8L. Would have been more interesting to see with a stock motor with a stock or even up to a ls6 cam. See what the results in back pressure would have been

A 65mm is still a small turbine though, most would be using a pair of those with twins and even on say a 6.0 with twins, a 65mm turbine isnt massive by any means

That's what I thought. I have the DNA Motoring GT45 and was surprised to see it give better numbers than the tested "76mm" But then again they didn't give the entire specs of the "76mm" haha

CX Racing also has a 76mm turbo with a larger wheel...we will never know if they used the small wheel or larger wheel (we can only assume it was the smaller).

you can tell just by looking at that its the standard small wheel the bigger 76 they call it a gt45r its physically bigger than both the 76 ptrim and the gt45
