HELP! Rookie mistake
While filing my rings for my 5.3 tonight, I got distracted and filed one twice without checking it in between. Ended up with a gap of around .042. CRAP!!! These are the oem rigs I was just going to open up and reuse. You guys think I should run it, get a new ring or find another used ring and refile it? I'm thinking maybe a new used ring would be better with a smaller gap than running the one I have. It's a second ring. The top one in the same hole is fine. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

If you consider the circumference of the ring is approx 12.568" ( for 4" bore )
As you can see, even at 20thou...the gap represents only 0.0016 % of it.
Even a 40thou gap represents 0.0032 %
Really, it is negligible
