Does anyone run two mufflers in series? My truck is so loud.

The picture of the 4 inch cutout looks like a 3 inch pipe with an expander to mate with the 4 inch cutout. Does it actually come with full 4 inch plumbing through all 3 inlet/outlets?
Not sure, I usually make my own piping and just use his flange.

I don't think that link worked. Just go on performancetrucks.net and search helmholtz resonator. There is a good write up on there on how to make a resonator to eliminate drone at any given rpm.

Does anyone know where to buy cutouts without the motor attached, or a plate with a 4" butterfly valve that's safe for exhaust use? I've always wanted to make my own boost activated cutout.

Call up badlanz. I'm sure he would hook you up. I used a 60mm WG as a cutout. Worked really well, but my placement was crap. Made no difference in power up to 20lbs. But at 24lbs I picked up a little MPH removing it.

At 20-21 lbs on my S475 5.3 I went from this 4” DP with a 2.5” glass pack muffler on the end. The body was 4” OD so I just slid it in the DP an welded around the edge. China 60m WG with 2lb spring (if that)

To this open 4” pipe and picked up zero MPH.

The muffled WG setup was pretty badass. Looks a little silly, but very quiet...

I have a stock SRT4 wastegate sitting in my garage. It's an internal style gate so it is just an arm that actuated a lever. They open at 4 PSI. If I could get a 4" cutout and use the gate as an actuater I could run a 2.5" single out the back.

Look at the Dynamax VT series, I had a Magnaflow 3" in and 3.5" out on the Escalade and at 70-80 the drone was mind numbing. Put a Flowmaster 3" in and dual 2.5" out and the sound was really good but too loud for the wife. Switched to the Dynamax VT 3" in 3.5" out and it is super quiet inside at all speeds and keeps pretty quiet at cruising speeds but cracks open and gives a nice sound at 3/4 to WOT.

And I bet it doesnt hurt performance a single bit.

There is really no need for a fast car to be very loud, unless you want it to be. Especially a turbocharged one as the turbo kills a lot of the noise itself.

mine is more of a hybrid. I hate loud *** crap on a street car, much prefer quiet, plus it really gets the looks when they know what the car runs and it is driving around the staging lanes and cant even hear it

But, it is tough to fit a large good flowing full length exhaust on these cars. So i run two 3" mangaflows with a 14" bodies in series.

up front i have a 5" off the turbo that goes to a 4" qtp cutout to dump at the fender, works flawless

i never run high power without opening the cutout some, but at lower power levels like 12psi and under i dont notice really a power difference other than the slight change in boost, more so the spool up is the only real difference
