Default Powerdyne bd-11a 500rwhp

I picked up a Powerdyne bd-11a supercharger yesterday. Im planning on putting it on my 2000 Formula M6. I will be only doing around 6psi out of this unit. Currently I have 243 Heads, Ls6 intake, XR265-15 Comp Cam, Pacesetter Lts, and 3.5 Catback. My goal would be around 500RWHP with the Powerdyne installed. I think I should be there if I add the Powerdyne since I should 375-390Rwhp N/A. But, I hear that Powerdyne units arent efficient so just want to get some opinions.

Get rid of it. Before I saw the light and realized the benefits of the LS motor, I was a Ford boy and bought a PD supercharger. Long story, it failed, and when I sent it in for warranty they denied the warranty. They had been bought by another company and voided all warranties for existing customers.

Like SM105K I had a few Foxbody Mustangs. One was a BD11A equipped car. The blower was upgraded by a shop that I think is still around. That thing still sucked. Mine didn't fail, it simply couldn't make the steam that other blowers could. I got the whole setup for $900 from a buddy who got a DUI. If not for that fact I'd have saved up for a Paxton Novi 2000.

Do yourself a favor and sell the Powerdyne unless you got it for SUPER cheap. If you had done research on it you'd probably have skipped buying it and saved up for a Procharger or gone with a Nitrous Plate Kit.

I paid $400 for the supercharger kit. Its actually the kit from 04 F150 5.4 a friend of mine totaled. I heard before that this units were pretty bad but my friend needed some money so he gave me the powerdyne for $400. I been doing some searching and I can get brackets and other parts needed for it to fit my car but it probably wont make good power gains if any. Its an ok unit if you have a stock engine and arent looking for more than 100hp gains. From what I read, the problems with this is that they are easy to overspin (around 40,000 rpm max). With the set up I have now if I shift at 6,400 rpm I will be spining it at around 47,000 rpm. So Im not sure if I would be making any boost spinning the supercharger at 40,000rpm max. I would be happy if I could make 500rwhp with the powerdyne and my other mods.

It is your car, when it comes apart and takes out your motor.......I will say,"I told you so."

My opinion is that you should save yourself the headache and try to sell and turn a buck on the Powerdyne. Once you find an LS1 F-body bracket, source the hardware for install, get the crank pulley, a belt, hose / tubing to the TB, a bypass valve, injectors, 255 fuel pump and a re-tune you'll be into the kit for how much? Then you'll dyno the car and make the same power at 6 PSI that I did with a 306 SBF at 11 lbs years ago but you'll have a heavier car.

You should sit down and make a spreadsheet with everything you'll need to accomplish this install and hopefully (but most likely NOT) make 500 RWHP.
