Default ARP 625's in stock anywhere ?

As title, any vendors have these in stock ? LS2 block

ARP 234 4314

After AES failing to supply despite waiting for months...eventually I got a refund from them

Then I order online from Autoplicity, seemed a good price even if their postage was insane. 4 weeks on I still have **** all, and they now tell me they may ship approx 22 April, another 3 ******* weeks....approx, not definite.

What the **** is it with US vendors ?? If they cant supply something in a timely manner, why dont they just bloody tell people at time of ordering, or preferably before ?

Is it really so ******* difficult ?

So...rant over, does anyone have these in stock so I can cancel the ones that are taking forever ?

I've had good luck here:

Amazon.com: ARP 234-4314 Head Stud Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: ARP 234-4314 Head Stud Kit: Automotive

You can call them too if you want, 1-225-752-2738.

It specifically says on Amazon they do not ship to the UK or international

If this is same vendor, I've just sent them an email, their price on their site is very good too

I had a hard time finding a set back in February, I found one shop in Texas who had a set and I paid premium for them, otherwise they were talking 4 to 6 weeks to get from arp at best. They are probably still back ordered, even the places that say they have them in stock online, didn't have them when you called.

The most annoying bit is I paid in full for a set from AES back in November. They said nothing about difficulty in supply, and didnt say a word when they eventually sent the stuff I ordered ( after over 3 months ), the studs simply werent in the box.

Not once did they mention in that time there would be a problem.

If they hadnt been dirty lying bastards and just told me at the time I could have ordered elsewhere and had them by now.
Instead I've had to wait until march to find out....and then the next ***** I've ordered from dont mention any problems with supply until 4 weeks after I order and **** all has arrived.

It really has to be said, many vendors in the US are just ***** with no notion as to what customer service is.

Not all, but many.

They never replied to me email anyway.

Seems I'll just have to wait it out, probably just put the engine back together with my old studs as fed up with this ****.

BTR or SK Speed would likely be your best bet.

I also have a dilemma/issue with AES. You're far from the only one.

Hang in there boss and don't let a poor experience ruin your hobby!

BTR already replied, they were up front and honest that they are very hard to get and probably couldnt get them in the timescale I wanted.

I'll just hold on for the ones from Autoplicity and build with my old studs in the meantime.

It wont ruin my hobby at all..it's just bloody annoying !

And it seems almost everyone who has had dealings with AES...have issues.

I have a set if anybody needs them, I cracked the sleeve on my block so don't need them. Only used for about a month, no issues. PM me if you want them.

Do you think the sleeve cracked from the studs from all the extra clamping force on the deck? Or was it just the limit power wise? Or was it down low on the sleeve with your 408 stroke putting extra pressure down there?

it didnt crack anywhere near the stud, I think just a thin casting block there. It was probably making in the 1350rwhp range when it broke on a full pass out the back door.

That's fantastic about the water with these head studs -

Do you believe you just found the limit of the sleeves? How did the main bearings look? Any flex from the eagle crank? Main caps pinned? Any chance they were walking a little?

bearings looked perfect, mains not pinned, this motor had a dragon slayer crank in it. I don't think was walking at all. I think just got a thing wall casting block and hit the limit of it, datalog looked great.

Good stuff. Thanks for the report. Rare to hear people breaking a sleeve on these from straight power and everything else looks good.

I believe Stock48 said he went through 6-7 blocks before he found one that had thick enough castings on the stock sleeves.

I wonder why there is so much variance from GM on their castings.
