Target 8.5 160+ Ysi c5 street car
Looking to make some changes to get from 8.8@157 down to the 8.5 range.....brief breakdown of setup is
408 c5 automatic
Ysi 22 psi
Trickflow 225 flow 340cfm @650
Decent size cam
8.9:1 compression
3.42 gears 3500 stall
2 inch headers 3 inch mids
+++++++++++
Current setup has trick flow 225 with a 2.05 valve and comp 1.8 ultra rockers
I want to get some thoughts on swapping them with a buddy of mine that has a set of prc 237 with a 2.10 intake valve. Theory is the bigger valve will help so much more that the 2.05 valves....Along an upgrade to pac 1208x springs
Also seems the prc have a thicker deck which could help keeping them planted.
I Had plenty of problems last year with lifting the trick flows
Plan is to mill them to take my compression from 8.9:1 to about 9.7-9.8.
I'm also going to be switching from the ls6 intake and 78mm tb to a ported holley hi ram with a ported ls2 throttle body. I've seen gains of 30-40 who in n/a setups hopefully I can double those gain at 23-24 psi also going to be losing the a/a intercooler in favour of a nice a/w with ice for the track hopfully gain a couple of psi another benefit of cold air temps I will be able to run q16.
I'm pretty sure my current gen 1 A&A intercooler was never setup for 1000rwhp
I'm hoping all these changes will net me somewhere near 100-125hp which in theory gets me into the 8.5 range
Comments welcome.

Intake, heads, compression all sound like sensible changes. What sort of rpm's do you currently use ? cam ? Would a solid roller and really revving it help ? especially with larger heads and intake ?
I'm going to doubt the swap from LS6 to Holley will on their own yield the gain you seek, but the fact the Holley may push the rpm's up may free up power ability if the cam/valvetrain is designed to work up there
But you're flying as it is !

How fast are you spinning the blower ?
