Consensus on IAT Sensor Placement on Meth
boosted c6z with ecs novi 1500 kit
alky inj. meth kit
Are most of you guys relocating the IAT sensor out of the MAF and into the front of the Intake Manifold? POST Meth?
i.e. IAT Sensor --> TB --> Meth --> MAF
Is this safe?

I have a Procharger with twin coolers. I put the meth on the tube coming in opposite the side with IAT. I figured that way I might get a merged temp rather than having it spray directly onto the sensor and have excessively cold readings that were tricking were too cold.
I realize it doesn't answer your question but I thought about it a lot as you apparently are.

If your not using your IAT temps to tune, it doesn't matter. Just understand the temps a saturated IAT sensor reports aren't an actual representation of the charge air temp. The reported temps are basically a BS value that lets you know your meth is "ON". If your tune adjusts timing based on your IAT value it can get you into trouble.
You don't want meth going through your MAF.

I actually prefer to spray on the sensor. I set up a safety in the tune to pull out 10 degrees of timing if it goes above what I have logged at the track. I know its not a real reading though.

My tuner said he prefers the iat directly in the intake to get the most accurate reading of what the engine is actually seeing
Mine is in the charge pipe probably 6" from the throttle body and he thinks it picks up more ambient heat there

My IAT sensor was in the intake where the EGR was, right behind the throttle body. The nozzles were in the charge pipe about 3' before the TB. This was enough distance for the liquid to vaporize to avoid those massive IAT drops that people claim when the liquid gets directly on the sensor.

Here are some pics of my IAT sensor mounted in the EGR blockoff plug: I'm selling it, shoot me a PM if you're interested.
