Default compression ratio advice

with the heads i have and the rotating assembly i have in my short block i can range my CR from about 8.7-9.2 depending on head gasket thickness. i dont want a gasket more then .075 so thats why i limited it to just 8.7:1 now the question comes in at what would benefit me more. i want to run 9-10lbs on the street but i want to be able to turn it up to about 18lbs eventually. this is a pump gas only car, no E85, i dont want to run meth, just 93 octane. i know with keeping the compression a little higher i can probably get the turbo going a little sooner(PT88 btw) but keeping it lower i can run more boost safely. would 9.2:1 be ok at 18lbs? or would 8.7 even? ive done some looking around and havent really found a straight answer. ive seen people saying 8:1 and ive seen people saying stock 10.5:1 has seen boost upwards of 15lbs on pump gas. thanks for any advice.

Id run the higher compression
For the amount of boost your aiming for it shouldn't ever be a problem, and it won't feel like a slug out of boost
