Tuning with 110 race gas (9.85@138)
I'm tuning a buddies 6.0 on 110.
I'm being conservative as we are just getting started.
12 psi, 11.5:1 and 16 deg timing.
Just flat across the board after about 4 psi.
Owner wants to up the boost. I want to optimize 12 psi first.
Mid 10's @ 130 with soft leave.
3800lb Chevelle.
Just looking for advice on where the limits are. SBE and I don't want to hurt it.
Thanks
Ron

what year motor? that itself will determine what limits are
i just finished up a ls3 on pump gas...16psi and with 8* it made 744 on a mustang dyno
on 13* timing it made 806 on mustang dyno
be smart and use the IAT retard in your favor and you can have a setup last on pump gas

Fuel is Sonoco 110.
I did the street tuning on pump gas. But retuned the street with the 110.
Agree on the plugs.
Knock sensors are active and functioning. Not that I'm counting on them to save anything.
I'm concerned the AEM WB sensor might not last long with the leaded fuel. But it seems to be fine.
Tuning with HPT.

I kind of mirrored Stock48's tune, I would say it proved itself, lol
I did run 22 on a couple LS engines I had on the dyno, pretty much let the plugs dictate where it was-on the street I started using #7 plugs, didn't see any diff over the #6's, like the lower timing just tried to add some safety

11.5cr is high for use of a tr6
If you read the plugs you won't be using them
Br7Ef to start off with......listening to others can get you in a situation that may turn ugly
Tune off plugs and you'll be fine

I’d go straight to the boost he wants to run at something overly safe timing wise… (8-10*) Dial in the fuel and up timing a degree at a time watching plugs/mph as everyone suggested.
If a hotter plug gives a better idle and no issues in boost, why not… I just don’t see how the heat mark on the strap of Tr6 wouldn’t indicate it was too hot of a plug at the timing and boost Stock48 runs. Jarrett, do you have any pictures of a TR6 plug strap after a pass on either car?
On my E85 6.0 at 13* of timing and 20-21lbs the br7’s ground strap heat line is a little past half way point. Everything I’ve read about plug choice says never use projected tip plugs with boost. And halfway down the ground strap is about where you want a “safe” boosted plug heat wise. My 5.3 at 25-26lbs and 17* of timing, the mark on the strap was closer to the base/90* turn on a #7 plug strap. That tune lasted about 8 passes before spitting out a HG. (not saying it was the plugs fault, who knows)
