Default best turbo converter? yank/ptc?

Looking to spend about 1000 on a converter. I heard the 3400 billet yanks work well and I know a few people running ptc's. It's for a turbo spline glide. Just curious as to what everyines opinions are. It's a stock 6.0 with an s475 and a/w intercooler so probably around 600-700. Will probably get a cam this winter and be looking to make 800-900 ish

I'll preface this with not having any glide experience and my application is strictly been with an 80e.

With that said I know everyone is going to come in and swing from PTC's nuts and for good reason. They make some of the best converters out there. However, I have a Pro Yank 3400 single disk on my 80e and have been extremely happy with how it has performed. I have very minimal slip up top going through the traps and I can build enough boost on the line to cut good 60's consistently. It's great mannered on the street which is street driven 95% of the time and I've never had a need to send it in for a restall. For whatever reason it seems as though alot of guys get their PTC's reinstalled, but for my setup I've never felt like i've had the need to do so. I plan on cranking up the boost and shooting for high 8's this fall in my 3800lb car and feel as though the converter will do just fine. As for a glide, this may be a different.

I've heard good things about the yanks but I'm not sure if they make them for glide/turbo spline or not

Most of our builds get the Yank PY. Good converter for the money.

I ran a PY3400 then switched to a Pro Torque big money setup. Gained 0 ET while running 5.2's in the 1/8th. The Protorque did make is easier to spool at the line though.

I just can't find anyone local that deals yank. I really want the yank tho. Has anyone ever ran a coan converter on a turbo setup.? I called and gave them the specs and they told me with billet cover and rated for 1000hp would be 1050 bucks

I have had four PTC converters in different cars and they have all worked great. I had one in a 1989 TTA, 2002 Z28, LS6 Crate Cobra Kit Car and now the Turbo Vega with a Glide and have been very happy with them.

The Vega with the Glide can be street driven easily and the converter hooks up very good on the top end on the few license passes I made a month ago.
