Default Truck fpr and boost

Hi with a returned fuel system and the truck fpr with boost would this damage it .. ? Wondering based on boost was not in the original plan of the engineers? Or would it work as a rrfpr?

works perfectly. I run a single bosch 044 pump and I use the stock regulator. I turned it down to 50 psi base. and run 80# injectors. no issue at all.

Does it increase pressure with boost?

the stock reg. is adjustable if you turn the little tamper proof torx in the center of the diaphragm. it is touchy mine was 58 and I turned it to 50.

as far as boost reference I have never watched it but it does reduce pressure with vacuum so I whould assume it adds with boost being a diaphragm style but I have never witnessed it rise.

Factory is not a rising rate regulator. It will not rise 1:1 with boost. So if your base if 50 and u run 20lbs of boost your fuel pressure drops to 30. Anything less than 42-43psi and your spray pattern is crap and your injectors flow less than they are rated at.

have not noticed that but im at 10# boost. I will check mine with a guage and some air pressure and see if it rises at all. I know it lowers with the engine idling. and I set it up this way as seen on some of denmah's builds. i'll post back with my results.

Wasnt' a vac port/barb on the FPR on the truck intake I have? It's one of the newer intakes though. I thought these were dead headed and had the FPR in the tank on the 06+ Ls setups?

yes the newer intakes have no boost/vac reference and no return line(deadhead) but the 03 ones have a return line and a vac line from the intake to the reg.

both of my 05 engines had the single fuel line and no return or adjustment screw.so I swapped to the older intake with no egr and return fuel line setup.

The stock truck regulator is pressure referenced, 99-03 model years.

04 up is returnless system with regulator in the fuel tank.
