"Are you sure it's not just dragging the motor down because it's starting to hook in 3rd gear? As you burn the water off you're probably also shifting into 3rd gear, The tires will start to stick and put a load on the engine and cause it to bog. It doesn't take much power to spin wet tires in 2nd gear but when in 3rd with sticky tires... Your probably just running out of power to keep them turning = Bog"
I think he pretty much has hit it on the head...
You are going from a 1.48 torque multiplication to a 1:1 just about the same time the tires are getting hot and sticky...
Not to mention you are dropping your rpm's around 30% or so at that same critical time...
I wouldn't worry about it, unless it is some how effecting your ability to hook up.

Yes, post a log. Perhaps it's hitting an area of the VE or timing table that it normally doesn't see.
Also, 3rd gear burnout is exactly correct. Guys who use second aware simply lucky not to break the sprag coming out of the water.
Jake is the man on TH400's. He has helped me a lot,
I actually just do mine in drive as it's not a manual VB.
Finally, is the 2-3 shift ok on the track? What gears/tires?
