Default Can I reuse my stock valve spring retainers?

I have a 2007 LQ4 that I'm replacing the stock valve springs with PAC 1205x dual springs. The retainers don't fit quite as snug as the did on the stock beehives. They seem a little skewed after the replacement.

Snug ? That's like **** all.

You absolutely need correct retainers for those springs regardless of what material they may be made from.

That's not going to work at all, especially when you consider that you're probably also using stock seals which will coil bind the inner springs and trash everything in your valve train. Here's some links to the parts that you need.

Steel retainers: http://www.briantooleyracing.com/lig...e-springs.html
Locators: http://www.briantooleyracing.com/spr...060-thick.html
Seals: http://www.briantooleyracing.com/ls-valve-seal-kit.html

If you feel like spending the extra coin on titanium retainers they can be found here: http://www.briantooleyracing.com/tit...c-springs.html

Don't do it. ALWAYS buy retainers that fit the spring. You are begging for a bad experience with those retainers on those springs. They don't fit at all an aren't even close.
