I went 135mph at 12lbs and 12* at 3200lbs with a stock cam. L33 long block and pedaled the car for 4 seconds of the run.

That's pretty good for having to pedal it.

I still have my old blower cam in my car with my 7675. It does very well with it too. Full spool at 3k rpm's. I also would like to know a turbo friendly grind for my car as well. I made 630ish iirc at 11.7 psi.

Those are some nice numbers without running crazy boost levels.

I run a 227/227 on a 115LSA.
Stock LS6, builds boost around 2500-3000
PT6775 .96 T4

slight chop to it, just the nature of the beast with turbo cams, let the turbo does the work

Sounds nice. Is that a Tick stage 1? How much power are you getting out of it?

First off, and please take no offense to this, but I love cam threads. Any time someone asks the interwebs which cam they should use, I just think whoever is asking could get all the right answers if they asked the right people. The same effort it takes to ask a forum, you could ask an actual cam manufacturer.

Anyways, I apologize. You are asking more of an opinion on a specific cam. I understand that. Just cam questions on forums get me going. Rant over, again, I apologize.

Secondly, I find it very interesting that you see a lot of standard split cams professionally spec'ed for turbo applications.

Is it the fact that most are going on 10:1 compression engines? Is it something about the LS platform in general? Is it for streetability reasons? I thought what made a turbo cam a turbo cam was the reverse split design, favoring the intake, with early exhaust valve closing.

My guess is with a larger CI engine and smallish T4 turbo, cam guy is trying to prevent any exhaust flow reversion.

I'm using a 230/230 .609/.609 115+2 in a stock short block LS6 with Patriot Stage 3 CNC Truck Heads, LS6 Intake and a TC78 with a 1.15AR. Spools up to 6lbs. around 2,500 and hits hard. I love it. At 800 RPM its got the perfect chop, check it out lol.

It does sound good. That's awesome that it spools so quick. I bet that thing is a lot of fun.

So far I'm very pleased with the performance and I haven't even left the neighborhood yet lol. It doesn't build boost in first gear which is nice for the launch on street tires, second is really struggling for traction and third is holy **** time lol. If your still looking for a cam I'd suggest Pat G and he can supply the tune too. I'm currently data logging with Pat and its been a great experience. I know Martin at Tick comes highly recommended too as well as the guys over at Comp Cams so it really just depends on what your preference is lol. At least with my idle clip you know what the spec is and how it should sound to aid you in making a decision.

Just throwing this out there....what's wrong with the LS9 supercharged camshaft? The price is sure right brand new from GMPP. I'm using it in my 6.0LS build with 1.8 comp cams roller rockers which makes lift right at .625" between cam and rockers i have under $400 due to some patient shopping. Thoughts?

I've read where guys are using them and getting good results. I've also read from some of the cam guys, (sponsors) say they are good but they still leave some power on the table. I'm leaning towards the Tick stage 1 turbo cam or LilJohns stage 2.

Sounds like it will be a fun car. That cam does sound good for having 0 valve overlap.

As technology and information has evolved on turbo motors... So has the process to make one run....

What you do with the cam... has a lot to do with the relationship of cubic inches and turbine size... and that relationship has changed significantly in the last 10 years or so... as the turbines have improved... and gained capacity... the need to crutch their size by running a reverse split camshaft has diminished.
