I totally understand the need for the proper safety gear in a car that is capable of going fast. But at the same time, why do manufacturers produce cars that are capable or nearly capable of going fast at the track in stock form with out all the safety stuff? Also, aren't you already being safer by taking your fast car on the track instead of running it out on the public roads/streets? Ive nearly been kicked out of an 1/8th mile track for going mid/high 6's at 110mph and at the same track I have seen cars go mid to low 5's with no chute and a roll bar and they welcome that because of "grudge racing" and the money it brings.

450+ miles on the truck this week, i have been daily driving it, today had my first failure, easy fix though, these inline fuse holders are junk, even if they look high quality they always fail.
fuel pump fuse melted in the holder and never blew, wiring and everything is fine.
had to strip the wires and jump over to Ike's Airport Garage for a quick fix haha thank you Mitch Eisenhart and everyone else there for the wiring terminals and 10mm
ended the day with 455miles should be a few more by the end of the night, not bad for the street truck

The crimps are crap. I had a 40 amp Maxi Fuse installed in that holder and it never popped. This connection was from the battery and provided power for my Holley digital dash as well as my fuel pump. Took me forever to identify the issue because my failure was not as dramatic.

Thanks Slow Sedan I may try one on my next build then. It'll be a 3.80 bore 5.3 lm7 just wondering if the vs480 would be worth a shot since it's nearly half the price of a real billet s480

went to the track last night with my friend mark, as some of you might have seen his race car, we went to get some shakedowns in the new build and i decided i would make a pass in the truck just for *****
loaded up and drove 2.5 hours to the track in stop and go traffic lol
swapped on my tires, foot braked a 10.30@129 on 11psi of boost (approx 620whp)
and they booted me, no surprise, would have been neat to catch a 9 on my first pass but oh well, cant do that everytime, drove 200 miles round trip and averaged 16mpg LOL
ill have some video of it up tonight and ill edit the post
the camaro went 9.11@153 first pass ever down the track on 12psi (5-12ramp over 2sec)
then 8.48@170mph (14-25lbs 2 sec ramp) for number 2 pass ever
going to be disgusting for sure.
