Default OBX forward and up

Any of you guys running these turbo manifolds hang the turbo(s) off of them without braces? Im going to buy a set of them to re-do my setup and wondering how many of you guys are do this?

Im going to cut the V-bands off and extend the pipe a little straight to a T4 4 bolt flange and hang the turbo off of it. It would be easy to run a solid chassis mount as my engine is solid mounted but im just a little curious.

There are a couple of guys doing this with the VS racing manifolds and cast 90 elbows. Not sure how much of a difference between them.

Personally, Ive never had an issue with OBX stuff.

Mine are not OBX, similar style but different company. I cut the v-bands off and added 90 bends to T4 flanges hanging 6165s. Its currently untested but I don't see any problem with the light weight these turbos are.

I ended up with these.. Im tired of the heavy *** truck manifolds and worrying about the weld not holding up. plus my original desgin sucked and out the turbos in a shitty location.

If they fit without hitting the sides of the engine compartment, post a picture. I'd love to find something for my 260.

Mine measures just about 31" wide at that point, but it looks like I could slice and dice the engine compartment at least 3/4" on each side in that area. By any chance have you measured the width of the headers installed?
My heads finally got out of the shop and mine is going to start going together. I had to double check and make sure I still had the t3, t4, and t6 flange programs on the computer. It's been a while since I've had to make any.

Not yet Ron but I will have them here this weekend with measurements for you. Are you going to make T4 flanges? I'm in need of two

Just had a friend check his and The OBX headers are 5.75" wide from the flange face to the outside of the collector. They are roughly 25" long

Divided or undivided, material(crs or stainless), and thickness?

SS 1/2" T4 and 2.5" hole in the center preferably. I'm ok with carbon steel as well though

So .500 thick with a 2.500 hole through in the center. Will it be ok if I ship them on Monday the 3rd, or do you need them sooner?

No rush Ron! What are you going to use? I can go 7/16 or smaller as well, Whatever material you are going to use is fine with me.

Just checked, I've got a bunch of 1"x6" mild steel. Do you want four 11.15mm thru holes(7/16) or drilled and tapped (either 3/8 or 10mm)?

I have similar ones and was told not to for fear of breaking welds at flanges

Ron, Just run the mild steel. Ill end up painting it anyways. If you can easily drill and tap i say go with the 7/16 holes or even .500" if it makes sense. 1/2-13 hardware is dime a dozen.

I wouldn't want to hang a turbo off any header without a support. Seems like you'd just be asking for cracking at the welds.
Looks like your flanges will be made out of old weight machine plates left over from another project. Didn't realize I had 20-30 of them down at the barn. Figure I'll make some T6's while I'm at it. Haven't decided what I'm going to run on mine.
