I would run the factory LS1 style steam ports that connect all 4 ports together.

Trans Am's and Camaro's with the LS1 intake manifold. If you have a LS6 manifold on the car, they block the rear 2 steam ports and only connect the front 2. You can run the older ls1 style that connect all 4 ports together if you trim some of the excess ribs of plastic on the bottom of the intake for clearance

Between traveling for work, seeing family, and taking care of our new son, I have not had a lot of time to work on my car. However, this weekend I made some huge strides forward thanks to one of my best friends (99pewterz71).
On Saturday he came over and helped me get the broken stud out of my heads which was a massive PITA. Got the manifolds bolted on and everything torqued down. You can see the quality manifolds that Huron Speed produces
Next was dropping the kmember that was in the car out.
Here is the difference between the turbo K-member and non-turbo K-member.
We used the hoist to lift up the front end.
We mounted the kmember onto the motor and then lowered it onto a furniture dolly. This worked pretty well.
Me acting like I know what I'm doing and my father in law in the back overseeing things.
Once we had it in place we lowered the body down onto the K-member and there you have it!
Now is where I need some help getting some bolt sizes. As you saw before, I have all the motor and accessory bolts that were given to me in a bucket. Does anyone know the size for the bolt that holds the crank position sensor in? Is this the correct one for the 5.3?

Also, I can't find an LS1 style coolant crossover so I am tempted to buy 2 LS6 style crossovers and connect them in the middle. What is everyones thoughts on this? Has this been done?
I did some horse trading and picked up a Meziere EWP yesterday so I am pretty stoked about putting that on. Its probably going to be atleast a week or 2 before I can get out and do anymore work to it so I am sure I'll have some more questions before then.
Thanks for looking!

I used an LS6 and a truck coolant crossover and joined them with a brass "T" fitting on my Z28. It worked well and I never had any issues. There are some companies that make them as well. Trick Flow and Kurt Urban Performance are two that come to mind. EBAY has some as well that look decent.
Build looks great so far.

Not really a lot to report, I've been traveling a lot for work and haven't had a lot of time to work on the car. I have gathered a few more parts though.
My Jakes Performance 4L80 Stage 2 kit came in:
I found a 98 style coolant crossover, bent it, trimmed my LS6 intake bottom, and got it to fit. Before:
Also got my EWP installed:
Now I am on the hunt for all the bolts I'm missing:
-Crank Position Sensor Bolt
-Thermostat housing bolts
-coolant crossover bolts and o-rings
-strut nuts
Hopefully I can make more progress soon, I'd really like to get the whole front end of the car done next then focus on the trans and rest of my fuel system.

It's my car, havent made any track passes as I have no cage, and the one event I went to with timing I snapped the input drum on my trans. Anyways, we wound up at 595/558 on 16psi on 92 octane, and 688/617 on 18psi on 110oct. 5.3 with a PTE 7475

I wouldn't say there is a particular route. I think he just means make sure the wires of the knock harness are not being smashed by the coolant crossover plumbing when the Intake manifold is torqued down. I used painters tape to tape mine in place.

I'd take the water pump to your nearest lowes and test bolts to see which ones fit the thermo housing. Autozone or Oreillys should carry the coolant crossover oring deals. I believe they are the HELP! brand. If you still have no luck, let me know and I will dig up the box that has the part number on it or something. I have it.... somewhere. I have the coolant crossover bolts and strut nuts in my car. Ill run by lowes on the way home and get the thread, pitch and length and share it either tonight or tomorrow morning.
