Default Procharger rant! Please help

So I grenaded my F1C the other day (Pretty sure it was my own fault) and I've been trying to figure out what to replace it with. After talking with Bob from brute speed who's been awesome with me for the 8+ years I've been Fi I had my heart set on an F1X. He informed me that procharger has been having some issues with bearings and stuff internally on that model. I guess it's mainly the people racing them and overspinning them but he does know of some failures on street driven ones that are not overspun. So I figured that procharger would have a good warentee on these to protect there customers 4k investment. NOPE!!! because I'm cog driven ( which they offer on there blowers) they give no warentee. So I could spend 4k tomorrow strap it on. Have it blow up because of a known product issue and be out another 4k? Is it just me or is that insane? I think I may have to look at turbo setups. Looking for opinions

I love prochargers, but if they don't offer a warranty I would either stick with one that does have a warranty or look into an $800 turbo.

They won't warentee any of there blowers if there cog driven, I'm done with serpentine belts which is why I went cog. What would it cost me to get a 1000 whp capable turbo setup? I already have all the supporting mods including intercooler setup

Why don't you step into a used f1r for the time being? You could likely get your money back out of it if you buy it right. Then upgrade to the f1x when you feel it is time.

A used F-1R or an F-2 would be a good way to go. Bob

I blow up 2 brand new f1c 10.5 blowers not over spinning with a cog setup and procharger warranty them. I didn't even pay for shipping.

I'm just going off what Bob told me. I don't know if it's worth the chance. No clue what I should do at this point

Not warranting cog blowers is ProCharger's official position. Rules are meant to be broken, there are always going to be cases where they do take care of the blower, it depends on the circumstances. Bob

I always like procharger but watching so many touch down/blow up I wouldn't go that route any more. OP I think you could do a quality turbo set up for 3 to 5 grand maybe a tad more but No on3 BS haha.

Procharger does not offer warranty on any of their race blowers, even a non cog belt setup... (8 or 10 rib).

A guy on the Vette forum in Saudi bought a new F1X, put it on the car and the blower ate itself on the dyno...No street miles, only a couple pulls.. Contacts Procharger and they tell him its not covered and he'll have to send it back and have it repaired at his expense, they wouldn't even help him with the shipping from ****** Saudi. He wasn't even at max impeller speed.

He's had an F2 on the car for a couple years and no problems.

I've had pretty good luck with my two Procharger head units but... I won't buy from them again. I'd go YSI if I could do it over..

ProCharger serpentine blowers have a 1 year warranty that is subject to use and rpm. Bob

Idk I have had them on 3 different cars without problems. I will always choose procharger over the others for a few reasons. Self contained oil system is awesome and they are only about 6-7 hours from me.

I've been selling ProChargers since around 2003, and I've had very few problems with the head units over the years. Bob

If you take it to the track it isn't warrantied. It will always be over spun and not warrantied unless they want. I have dealt with procharger MANY times over the years. If you have FRIENDS there stuff can get done, if not don't expect much. Funny how they want to be the fastest but penalize you if you actually race LOL. How does that work.

Default I had my.f1x grenade on dyno

Procharger Warranty was only because it was 12 rib. I then got.a lengthy email in which they state they would not fix it again. So I sold the new blower I got back and went turbo!!! Do f1x-12 and gear drive and you will be fine

The F1X-12R is the latest and only version of the F1X-12 left. It is using the standard 5.63 F3R gearbox, and is basically an F3R-111. Bob

Rebuild can be done by alot of different places as well. You don't have to s3lend to just the manufacturer. I can't knock the f1r but you still have to deal with procharger to get it fixed and that is a cap shoot nowadays.

Is there a perfect method for obtaining higher hp? No, they all have there positives and negatives. I've had quite a few people go from Supercharger to turbocharger, then call me to buy another supercharger as they're tired of all the hassles they have encountered with their turbo kit. I'm sure a lot of people have gone from a supercharger to a turbocharger, and not looked back, but it seems like a lot of guys have problems with them too. Bob

One big difference between turbo and blower though....there are literally dozens of places that can repair turbos so it's easier to get an honest repair and also shop around.

With any of the superchargers, they refuse to sell parts to anyone which means you're forced into letting them repair.

That's all good and well if the repair is honest and with warranty. With no warranty, they may as well let anyone repair the things.
