Default How's my set up look so far? TT C5Z

I'm currently in the process of doing a Tt build on my 02 Z06. It started out as a "budget build" and has been slowly kicking my wallets *** all summer. Here's a list of what I currently have. I'm still deciding which route I want to go with fuel system wise but that's the last piece of the puzzle. I'm leaning towards a Racetronix 255 and Hotwire kit with a Magnafuel 4303 on a Hobbs switch to come on around 2-4psi. Any advice or pointers would be appreciated. I eventually want to break the 1000whp mark. Not sure if the On3 70mms will get me there but they should be fine in the mean time. I plan to eventually upgrade to BW s366s. Thanks in advance!

Eric

Motor:
Lq9 402
Mahle forged piston -12cc (10.6:1cr with 64cc heads)
Eagle H Beam rods w/ ARP 2000 rod bolts
Eagle 4340 4.00" crank
PRC stage 2.5 243's
LJMS spec'd cam 238/247, .615/.632 115+5 (originally spec'd for 402 w/ twin 67s)
Edlebrock ProFlo XT
LS2 tb

Turbo setup:
Twin On3 70mm turbos .81ar
2x On3 wastegates
2x On3 bov
eBay up & forward headers
Treadstone Tt 1300hp fmic

Fuel System:
Fic 2000cc injectors
The rest to be determined. Want to support 1000+rwhp on e85.

Update: ended up getting a deal on a magnafuel 4303 and magnafuel fpr. Now to save up for the small fortune I'll be spending on AN fittings and lines haha

Looks fairly good, I only notice a few things.

Personally, I would swap the Mahle's, for Wiseco's, the Wiseco's are a stronger (2618 vs 4032) aluminum, and aren't much more money.

Unless you already planned on LS9 gaskets I would add those to the list.

I know you said the rest was tbd, but if I were you I'd source an 08+ Z06 TR6060 and IRS, they'd be a hell of a lot stronger, and more than likely cheaper than keeping the T56 and C5 IRS alive.

Other than that, looks good man. Should be a beast.

Sounds similar to mine except different turbos.

Your build is actually the reason I pulled the trigger on this build. I was originally going to do a single turbo with the Hinson hot side but the ebay header and cx racing 90s were way more budget friendly. I even picked up an extra set of spindles to have chopped and welded to run 15s. It's gonna be a tight fit for he accessories. Are you still planning on running a ford alternator where the ac goes?

You're not going to just leave those turbos dangling from the headers like that, are you?

Other than that, you seem to have a pretty good game plan. Good luck with your build.

Nope. I need to weld support brackets on there and still need to slightly modify the driver side to clear the brake booster. I just bolted them up because I was really excited when they came in.

Good to know about the support braces. Are you having the wastegate flanges welded to those 90's?

If I stick with those pieces then yes. The downpipe and wastegates will be hood exit for now. I'm in the process of trying to pick up a set of pieces that go from the v band straight to the t4 flange similar looking to the PTK kit. That's still up in the air though. I'm not planning to tear into the car until next month so I have a while to decide.

What do you plan on doing with the radiator? Standing it up? laying it down?

Very similar to mine.

Is there really a concern over the headers supporting the turbo's? Anyone have an issue?

Bracing is gonna be a pita, I say run it like this and check out the flange-primary joint to see if it holds up

Bracing shouldn't been too bad. I plan on welding a couple of tabs to bolt in front of the heads. I don't know how much it will help but at least the entire weight of the turbos won't be on the header bolts. And for the radiator I plan on standing it up.

Default Fuel system question

Rather than making a new thread I figured I'd ask how this looks here. So I'm planning out my fuel system so I can order up my lines and fittings. The plan is to run a hotwired Racetronix 255 in tank and a 4303 to come on with a hobbs switch (also plan on having an override switch to run the 4303 all the time if I want).

-8an in tank 255 to y-block (rear of car)
-12an tank to 4303
-10an 4303 to y-block (rear of car)
-10an y-block (rear of car) to y block (front of car)
-8an y-block (front of car) to each fuel rail
-8an fuel rails to fuel pressure regulator
-10an fuel pressure regulator to tank (return line)

Injectors are fic2000s. Rails are the ones that came with the edlebrock pro flo XT. Fpr is a magnafuel 9950-b. Base fuel pressure will be around 60psi maxing out at 80psi on 20psi of boost.

I have the same manifolds and my turbos are hanging off in the same fashion.. I don't have a lot of drive time on the car but they are holding up so far. That brace idea is perfect though.. might as well go ahead with it.

I'm not expect them to. Especially not at 20psi. For the price, I figured why not. I do eventually plan to upgrade to some billet wheel s366 like you suggested but just want to get the car up and running in the mean time. This budget build is turning out to be not so budget friendly after all!

Nice, good to see other people take this route.

I ended up just clocking the stock alternator around. I got the idea from the upp twin c6z kits. I made the bracket out of some steel that I had laying around. I'm not running power steering or AC though. I had to extend the headers just a bit. I like it better this way say I can run the downpipes down the sides of the motor instead of out the hood or something obnoxious.
