How about this-do you think an 88mm could make 1000whp/160 trap in a 3000lbs car? I cant believe no one has maxed one out!!

They seem relatively new and the few that have them don’t lean on them very hard. I’d really like to see what 25lbs is capable of with one of these on a 5.3/6.0. Unfortunately they are priced similar to the S475 which is a tried/true brand name unit.

I agree. I may have to push that envelope.

And what do those tap out at? People see near 1000whp in 4 banger land but I know that does not always equate to V8 world!

No idea, never been on a dyno. Stock 48 has trapped the fastest at the most weight on the small S475 that I've seen. 157 @ 3350lbs. (6.0)

I'm going to give this thing the beans!! I ran 17-24lbs on my 76mm so I'll leave the settings the same and see if/how much this thing picks up at similar boost levels. Used a 3.5" downpipe with the 76 and switching to a 4" for this turbo.

Install notes:

A 1/4" NPT to -4AN adapter is needed for oil feed, I used Fragola fitting 482344. For oil return I used a -10AN Precision oil drain flange for medium/large frame turbos and secured it with 3/8-16 bolts. Also the on3 turbo outlet flange lines up nicely, flares from 3.5" on turbo side to 4" downpipe.

I doubt this turbo could do 1000rwhp, maybe on a dynojet with a 4.8l.lol I think precision advertises it as a 1250 flywheel hp turbo. The exhaust side would max out first on a V8.

What kind of trap speed did you get out of it and at what weight? Mine hasn't been on a dyno but the 76mm took me to 139MPH at over 4k lbs, 13 degrees timing 18-22PSI across the run.

I'm hoping the 88 picks up a little and I'm sure the tune can use a bump. I think E85 would like more timing but I've just been creeping up on it slow, going from 10 degrees to 13 picked up 4-5MPH.

My point was that most of these people want to make 1,000+ RWHP and run stock suspension, stock transmission, stock rear, etc.

Yes there always has to be that one unicorn. What boost was he on? I'm saying this "PT88" won't do 1000rwhp. M Precision doesn't make this one anymore but they still sell the bigger pt8847 which is gt4788 wheels stuffed in a pt88 housing that they rate at 1400 flywheel.

Wouldn't this be the Precision comparison? I think they just changed the name or maybe it has a slightly better compressor wheel now?

I'm going with the VS racing 88/83, for the money and power it is capable of it seems like a no brainer. Denmah did the dudes in florida swap anything out motor wise on fairmont 5? or is it still how you had it?

Do you (or anyone) know if the turbine wheel in these things is a copy of the PT88 though?
