Default 1994 Camaro turbo LQ4/th400 build thread

Had a 2006 lq4 in the garage and a few other parts laying around and came across a 1994 z28 roller at a local shop from Texas not s spot of rust on it!

I'll start with a few pictures of what's been done so far and I'll elaborate more on the specifics when I have some time

Almost identical to my build, especially with how you cut the frame and added the tube in, badass! My only word of advise is take the rack bolts and flip them. Instead of dropping in from the top, they go in from the bottom. How do I know?, because I went to take my rack out but can't get the bolts out with the engine in the way, fail. So now in order to get my rack out I have to either pull engine or cut the bolts off. Looked at my buddy's stock trans am and they go in through the bottom first. Don't do what I did, lol.

Taubr I gotta give credit when it's due, I did the frame rail after seeing your work! Thanks for the info on the rack bolts.

So here is the plan-
2006 lq4 arp head studs, and f-body oil pan
S400sx78
T4/Divided manifold set up
Victor jr
Th400
80lb injectors/ a1000 fuel pump

Just getting started, progress will be slow and steady

Haha awesome, thanks! We'll have simular builds. Do you have a converter? That's one place try not to cheap out on, my new converter was a world of difference from my last one.

Any suggestions? For now it will be stock cam lq4. I've been looking but would love some advice as I'm new to the whole auto thing. My last car was a 6 speed.

I went with a billet PTC from Dusty Bradford. Nice and loose on the lower rpms but once it locks up its really hauls ***! Like heads on a motor, a bad converter will effect turbo spool and overall performance. Iv seen a lot of issues people have with spool time, down on power and **** et's all resulting in a bad converter.

When you are waiting on parts, sometimes you gotta improvise. That one is all yours if you want haha

Got started on the fuel cell mount, pretty happy with the fitment thus far. Next will come the sheet metal work to finish off the trunk area, then the battery mount.

What are your plans to separate the fuel cell from the passenger compartment? I'm at the same stage right now and I'm looking for ideas. Nice work by the way.

Started on the sheet metal for the new hatch/trunk area. Went a lot better than I was planning for.

Just need to finish welding and sanding, and cut the opening for the sump to sit down in.

Made the sump piece tonight, pretty straight forward. Can't see why anyone would spend $50 to buy this when it can be made for $9.

Here it is with the fuel cell in place, all that's left is the mounting straps and of course the lines/pump.
