Nice project! That sure looks to be a pretty rust free car. I have a 68 GS400 convertible I need to restore later on. It has to wait because it says Buick and wil eat the denaros too fast! Haha

Tossed it on for a winning feel, not bad for 35ish minutes of quickness before work. Waiting on orher head gasket, torque em' and put some lipstick on this pig

Got it all torqued and ready to go. Going to do a rear seal, it looks liks it was a leaker. Anyone got any tips before I do it? Got the timken one thats on the motor there. I ordered my motor and frame mounts from UMI performance. They are supposed to work with the F-body pan with no notching. They are made in the US with US steel, and the dude I talked to on the phone was very knowledgeable.

That coffee is crazy! I may as well have done a line, hahah. I put the valvetrain together, stock pushrods, and torqued the rockers to 22ft, spun it 180 22ft again. Looks good spins over great! Painted the valve covers, contemplated cleaning it all real nice then reality hit and i decided nope. This motor might not make it 2 days!! Haha .

Also for anyone following along I didn't mention, if you choose to use the same drain location as I did on the F-body pan, the fitting needs to be trimmed down if it is not a weld on bung. The pickup tube runs into the fitting if left long. The fitting is a 1/2 NPT to -10an. I used a 45/65 drill bit I think? and a 1/2 NPT 20 tap. Dude did not buy the motor, but the show must go on. Motor is to come out this week, in anticipation of getting my motor mounts and frame pads.

Going to clean up some not too much, and jam the granny and motor in see how they fit! Super pumped. Ordering some fun stuff this week also, either the micro or the turbo.... hmm...

Side note, has anyone welded up EGR manifolds?

Cool swap. For the EGR I actually tapped it 1/2 or 3/4npt I cant recall then just tossed i a steel plug.

Best solution is to tap it then weld around the steel plug.
